FFL Transfer Fees in NOVA

Being relatively new to the area, I am wondering what are example charges for FFL transfers in the NOVA area. Also, what are the going rates at specific gun shops? Looking to maybe getting a pistol and shotgun bought in future and transferred here. Unless, of course, can find good prices at a fun show or dealer.

Thanks, Joe

Typical rate is $30-$35. Some shops don't allow transfers from individuals so you have to make sure to check that.

Hatfield's Gunsmithing does transfers for $25. Sharpshooters in Lorton does transfers for $50, but they will accept from a non-FFL. I think VA Arms does them for $35. Dawson's does them for $75.

Nova Armament in Herndon charges $25 for handguns, $35 for long guns. You can submit a transfger request via online form.

Blue Ridge Arsenal in Chantilly charges $52 for either. You have to go into the shop to submit the form which is kind of inconvenient.

I only charge $20 per transaction, not per gun and I accept from both FFLs and individuals. Located in Culpeper though.

Our rate is actually $30 for the first firearm in a transaction, $15 for each additional firearm in the same transaction.

Dawson's charges $50.oo plus the $2.00 State Police Fee, has had the same charge for the past few years, NOT $75.00.

That's what I was quoted by an employee there. No, he doesn't work there anymore, this was a couple of years ago when I asked.

NOVA Firearms in Falls Church City charges $49 for incoming transfers. A bit steep, but thats where they make the majority of their on-site income.

And being inside the beltway I'm sure the extra cost is worth the extra convenience for some.

Loudoun Guns in Leesburg charged me $50 plus $2 for the State Police fee for an incoming rifle. A little steep, but they notified me that it was ready within minutes of my receiving notification from FedEx that it had been delivered, and the staff there was friendly and helpful when I picked it up.

Sterling Arsenal (sterlingarsenal.com) is $28, more if it is something new that they stock.
I will be using them this week.

Teutonic Arms (top of the list here: http://www.gunbroker.com/FFL/SearchForF ... e&sv=22079) does transfers for $20. I've used them for transfers on two occasions. They're not a brick and mortar store but I've found them easy to work with, and they communicate through e-mail unlike some places.

$30 at All Shooter's Tactical in Woodbridge. You just send them an email with your info about the inbound transfer. Nice to do business with.
