And these are the people that are the "last line of defense against a terrorist." Or so they justify their complete trampling of the fourth and now first amendment. God help us all.

If TSA folks had any intelligence, they'd be real police officers, not over-glorified rent-a-cops.

I saw that on the news tonight, thought I was gonna loose it. According to the news story, the reason for the reaction is the TSA had prohibited firearm replicas since 2009. I guess they considered the purse a replica.

In other, but related TSA news, they strip searched a grandmother cutting her leg at JFK. She later had to be treated for the cut and get a tetanus shot. In a civilized society a person who treated another person like that without any probable cause would be fired at minimum, and would likely be charged with a crime. Makes me so very very angry.

I remember reading somewhere the biggest competitor for TSA employees (as in the other main place they'd be employed) is McDonalds. That was a quote from some TSA bigwig.

Gonna go on record here and say there will be a team of these halfwits at every rental car place in the country by 2015.

So, I went to work today, and brought this subject up with my (predominantly liberal) co-workers. The general consensus, of course, was "What a Crock", or words to that effect.

Except for one co-worker, who said "Well, you know, they can't be too careful. 17 year olds kill people, too."

o.O

When the TSA isn't keeping airline passengers safe from fake gun designs on purses, they're strip searching 85 year old women.

Perfect example of the problem there are extreme groups of people out there that really believe that and take everything way overboard.

Can't be too careful, ya know.

You know the real problem? TSA takes themselves WAY too seriously, which leaves it open to ridicule.

They also know, if they mess up? That agency is ALREADY hated... it would be very little pressure needed for the American people to petition to Congress to dissolve it, and let the STATES do their OWN security.
