Today I got out the range and was able to put a 100 rounds through it. I also did some work with my glock as well, for comparison
Here is my glock target (shot with Hornady Critical defense or Hornady Zombie .40 S and W)

here are the targets for the p220

First impressions compared to the Glock 23 while the report was louder, the recoil was noticeably less "snappy"; probably attributable to the steel frame vs polymer.
It took a little getting used to, have to let my off thumb ride a little lower than I would on the glock else the decocker would ride into it due to recoil.
While the double action pull did require a concious effort, it wasn't unbearable, the transition to single action does mess with me a little bit.
In single action though it was a treat; very little trigger pull, very smooth action, while my aim might not be great (hey I've only really been shooting 4 months since I got the glock in August :p)
as you can tell by the parts literally chewed out of the targets, even I could get decent groupings : )
It has out of the box factory sights, that I am going to have swapped out for Sig Lite night sights; I will see how that impacts it (when i put the night sights on the glock if anything i found them better than the original white dot)-but based on my limited skill, the rumors of the out of box sig accuracy are true-the problems here were me , not the gun (also i was in a wall lane, never helps). All these shots were done at 10 yards.
Once i learned to keep my off thumb a tad lower, the gun was a pleasure to shoot though the smaller capacity mag kept suprising me how fast it emptied (8 rounds max, and to be honest a lot of times i was only getting 7 rounds in-i might have been spoiled by the glock coming with a mag loader lol).
I am liking the gun a lot, though haven't quite settled into the grips as they are a bit different than the glock (which has finger grooves) but that might just be the fact all i really know so far is the glock, as opposed to a flaw. I will have a better idea after a few more uses, when i've had a chance to really get comfortable with it.
