NOVA Firearms is now a Class I and Class III SOT Dealer. We are the only Virginia gun shop (and now Class 3 dealer) inside the DC beltway. We will be building our class 3 full-auto and suppressor inventory over the next couple weeks. If you have recommendations for particular class 3 items that you would like to see stocked, please send me an email (sales@novafirearms.com).

Thanks again to everyone who has supported our shop. Without your direct support, we would not have been able to grow as fast as we have.

Thanks again,

Dennis Pratte, owner

Congratulations Dennis!! That's great news! You should put together a Press Release at www.ammoland.com to help get the word out about this development!

Anyone thinking of doing business with this company should check out the reviews on Yelp at http://www.yelp.com/biz/nova-firearms-falls-church I have never seen so many bad reviews.

Yes we have had a bunch of Anti-gun folks writing negative comments about us because we moved to McLean recently. They are trying to run us out of McLean.... But we are not going anywhere! It's unfortunate but we have had over 3000 happy customers last year and look to continue supporting our customers long into the future.

Thanks!

I tend to take reviews with a grain of salt. They are posted rather anonymously.

I've noticed that if you look at the writing style, sometimes it appears that several reviews are written by the same person. That works for bad reviews, as well as good.

Usually, I ignore reviews on stores, and just go see for myself.

You're new here, and the first (and only) three posts on the forum are to point out negative reviews of a local gun store? What's your story? Is that the only reason you joined this forum? Do you have any personal experience with this store?

The reviews on Yelp look legit. I visited there once based in input over the phone about having a certain Sig 1911 in stock. Less than an hour later there was none, and there never was one. Thumbs down for me. But heck, maybe I'll give them another look in the new location. Been 2 years...

Hope you do... Lots of new inventory (typically about 150 guns in stock at the shop) and about 50,000 guns and accessories online that transfer to our shop with free shipping. Nova no longer charges any transfer fees with gun purchases and has all new staff and instructors. Our shop is on the smaller size but we now have plenty of parking - unlike the location in falls church. We operate evenings 5pm-8pm and weekends 10am-3pm. What we have learned over three years is that people want time and attention when buying firearms- and they should get it. So what we do- that nobody else does- is we have set up an automated appointment book. Clients can make reservations to come see us - or walk in- but reservations have priority - even if we are in the middle of helping a walk-in customer. Believe me, it's tough getting people used to the "online appointment book" but those that use it, love it. We are in business to promote the shooting sports to the next generation- this is not a full time job for any of our staff - but we enjoy what we do and hope we can make the sport enjoyable for a few more people while we are in business. We will be in business for about 18 more months, then we will quietly close as I retire and leave the DC area- but until then- enjoy the convenience of an gun shop in McLean! Thanks, NOVA Firearms www.novafirearms.com

I purchased a few things last year and had good service. Any reason you guys moved out of Falls Church?

The primary reason we moved was related to parking. We only had a couple parking spots at the Falls Church location and it was difficult for our customers to find parking. Then, when our customers mistakenly parked in spaces not allocated to us, the other businesses would chase down our customers, and it got old for us (and the customers). Our new space has plenty of open parking and is much easier to access our space. We heard rumors that people thought the City officials kicked us out, but actually, the Falls Church City officials were very supportive of our business in Falls Church. If we could have found another space, with more parking, and a pro-gun landlord, in Falls Church, we would have likely stayed in Falls Church.

LOL, I do enjoy reading NOVA Firearms related posts. So, from this, I understand that - if I am a walk in, I can expect to possibly be dropped like a hot potato unless I make an appointment during your very limited hours. But that's ok, because the people helping me actually have other jobs and this is not their bread and butter. But even more importantly, you just told me this really is not a long term love, and you are not going to be there if I need support in about 18 months.
Really, all in fun man...I'm just giving you a hard time. Your shop is too much of a drive for me anyway.
