winchester 30-30

So I was at my new favorite gun store yesterday and saw a winchester 30-30, not sure which model. It was on consighnment and looked clean with barely a scratch but I didn't handle it long enough to closely inspect it. Though I imagine the inside would be like the otuside.

Well anyways it had a gap between the forend, the tube where you load the blullets (excuse my ignorence if that is wrong), and barrel. Now I've heard this doesn't affect it in any way except aesthetically.

So here's the weird part, it was $375? With no visable flaw on a gun I know who has a retail of 1000+.....yeah um what? Is the price drop on preowned gun so bad, is there something I'm missing here, is it because it's a lever action? What?

Any imput would be greatly apreciated because the clock is ticking, and if it is a good deal I wouldn't want to miss it.

Hey where did you see it so I can add it to my collection and help you out by relieving you of the temptation to buy it. :hysterical:

Dude seriously that sounds like a good deal at $375

Is this what it looks like?

Hope you get it as there have been more deer killed by the 30-30 then probably any other rifle

:gunporn: when you get it

Yes that's it except there is a small gap between the barrel and the tube underneath, I've been told it's just a cost cutting measure on winchesters part so they don't have to fit the forend to the barrel.

Oh and thanks for reminding me I've still got to post gun pron of my other pretties! :lovegunporn:

I think I saw that rifle this past week at your favorite gun store. The cool thing is that they're willing to play middle man if you want to ask the seller any question, specifically why it's selling so low!

That's good because I am wondering why? It's been racking my brain why a gun so expensive is so low, there's got to be a flaw or some terrible circumstance behind it. :bangin:

I bought a Winchester 94, new, in 2001, paid $300. That was before Winchester stopped making them. Now that they've restarted production, they jacked the price up into four figures. Older guns used to sell for $500 after they stopped making them due to perceived value by owners looking for money.
