Finally someone with some sense! THey don't keep people in jail and as matter of fact most of the time they just smack them onm the wrist and let them go.
I'm getting mine soon. Now all they need to do is lessen the laws on using it!

Yup. I have always thought that women should be REQUIRED to get a CHP, and train in Hand to hand combat in High School.
More crimes are committed against WOMEN than MEN in the overall picture.

Sheriffs are elected....that gives them alot more latitude to speak their minds.
Appointed police chiefs are tools of whoever appointed them.

Have to agree with Kreutz again on this one. The last thing I want is a Police Chief for Loudoun County, even if we are dealing with a imperfect Sheriffs Department. (What Department is perfect right?) This kind of scares me that some people want to create an actual Police Department in Loudoun County with a Police Chief is only accountable to the Board of Supervisors. Especially now that we are facing budget cuts as it is. Why do we want to burden ourselves even further.

Good read. Wish he stressed training as much as he did the firearm. Carrying a firearm around is better than nothing, but training, training, training!

Well, he recommended a Judge, but I guess nobody's perfect.

He makes a valid point.
Very little stops these guys from getting out and going right back to attacking law-abiding citizens. A CHP holder could have put a quick stop to that attempted rape, as well as any future crimes this guy will likely commit.
I have a CHP, I carry. This kind of thing is EXACTLY why.

HOLY CRAP! Do you have this statement 100% correct.
Take a look at where I currently reside (for 6 more godforsaken months). The Top Cop here is actually pro-2a, is the deciding factor on CCW permits and denies every one that crosses his desk (Hawaii).
He is of course appointed, not elected.

Mebbe I make him a CCW themed batch of home brewed beer instead? He is now one of my neighbors here in SC. I have chosen correctly.
