Wow, never thaught I'd hear that! Well it's no wonder our soldiers are what they are, they're movie fed. They all want to be rambo or captain kirk, and thus they are the best because that is what they strive for.
In the end we are a warrior nation, always have been. We can deny it but it will not change. And that Frenchman has only seen us policing, should we ever mobilize and start up the long dormant war machine the world would quake at the power unleashed!

This makes me happy. Because if our ALLIES see us as "Uberbadasses", then how does the enemy view us?

No pansies allowed! Bully!

Re: The French Opinion on American Soldiers
fascinating find, I had to laugh at this because it's so true:
As for the French, I know many people mock them, but the truth is they've been brutal warriors themselves up until WW2, when their humiliating collapse was the fault of their leadership (putting all their faith in the Maginot line); not the French soldiers. They fought hard and brave in WW1, and Napoleon tore a swath that left people pissed off 100 years later.
Had a squad-mate from deep in the sticks of Alabama, with a correspondingly thick accent, and I have a pretty thick Lawn Guyland accent and we literally couldn't speak to each other without alot of effort on both of our parts.Whatever state they are from, no two accents are alike and they even admit that in some crisis situations they have difficulties understanding each other.

Since when does the opinion of the French matter? The only war they've ever won was the French Revolution - and that was because they fought a French enemy!

They have an overall good history actually; their biggest losses seems to have been in their New World colonies.

French Jokes
I got a tip for you , if you install the french versions of your favorite programs, THEY RUN A LOT FASTER
Why wouldn't the Statue of Liberty work in France? Because she has only one arm raised.
During WW2, the French resistance fighters, in their finest hour, bravely threw sticks of dynamite at the advancing German troops. The Germans then lit them and threw them back.
Q. What does a French military alliance and a French romance have in common?
A. Both are brief, sordid, and completely meaningless.
Why do the French never perform "the wave" at a soccer game? Because, that's a gesture reserved for use only in time of war.
The French have only one actual fighting war hero, Joan of Arc, and they turned her over to the enemy!
Q. Do you know why so many Europeans Immigrated to North America?
A. To get as far away from the French as possible.
Why did the French celebrate their World Cup Championship in 2000 so wildly? It was their first time they won anything without the help of the U.S.
Q. What do you do if you see 90,000 dead french-men?
A. Stop laughing and re-load!!

That was more of a massacre than an actual war.TheGodfather wrote:Since when does the opinion of the French matter? The only war they've ever won was the French Revolution - and that was because they fought a French enemy!
