A 26-year-old Massachusetts man has been arrested and accused of plotting to destroy the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol with large remote-controlled aircraft filled with explosives.

Rezwan Ferdaus of Ashland was arrested Wednesday in Framingham when undercover federal agents delivered materials he'd requested for his alleged plan, including grenades, six machine guns and what Ferdaus believed was C-4 explosive.

Ferdaus, a U.S. citizen and Northeastern University graduate, was scheduled to make an initial appearance in federal court in Worcester on Wednesday afternoon.

A message for comment was left for his attorney, Catherine Byrne.

According to the federal affidavit, Ferdaus began planning "jihad" against the U.S. in early 2010. He allegedly believed he would have a large psychological impact by killing Americans, who he described as "enemies of Allah."

Rezwan Ferdaus of Ashland, Mass., was arrested Wednesday in Framingham after undercover FBI agents delivered weapons Ferdaus allegedly sought for the alleged plan. The stash included what he thought was 25 pounds of C-4 explosives, as well as three grenades and six fully-automatic AK-47 assault, a press release from the Department of Justice reads.

The recent (two years ago?) arrests of the four wanna-be jihadists that were gonna blow up a synagogue in NY (Riverdale w00t!) had similarly bat**** stupid plans led on by their undercover agent; who was paid very well for his role.

Theres alot of other "plots" uncovered that read like they were planned by a sexually frustrated 12 year old boy. Like this one; a dude with a bit of c4, some guns, and some 'nades was going to bring down two hardened structures that could each easily take a direct hit from say, a jetliner, which has already happened. Total BS. But, still, he's gonna spend alot of time in the pokey, which shouldn't surprise anyone.

If you're ever in a group of more than two people, and someone starts advocating blowing up government buildings or shooting at feds, you can take it to the bank that they're either an undercover agent or an informant.

What amazes me is that after all these years of that being the norm, the wannabes still fall for it. They really must be borderline retarded.

I will agree with the above assessment with one caveat...

I'd rather them "entrap" the stupid, and serve as an example, than to make the "clever" feel as if NO ONE is watching them!

Also, (cannot believe I'm agreeing with Kreutz AGAIN! FRAK!) I would like to see some of our civil liberties "reinstated". Die standing, or life on your knees as a slave.

Bitterness, disillusionment, and paranoia are pretty much what I run on anymore.

But beer....is still good and pure, like a childs laughter, or the screams of a clown dying in a trash compactor behind a CVS.
