Ok I came across this weird pistol while browsing Ruger's website. At first I thought it looked well..weird but the more I look at it the more I like it's design.

It's apparently meant for long range shooting, and seeing as how it uses their ever so famous and reliable 10/22 mechanism I could see myself shooting it and loving it, just like my rifle.

I do however wish they would make it in .22 magnum calibur just because it would squeeze a little more power into a already neat gun.

I never understood these. Why not just get the rifle or get a handgun?

I have one of these. I refer to it as my "super plinker". It is a bit different, but it really is a lot of fun. I like the 25 round magazines with it, too. Cool factor.

Well that's the kicker I own a Ruger 10/22 carbine already! I just love the neat look of it and the fact it combines the best of both pistol and rifle. But that is also my hang up is that it is so much like my rifle. Which is why I wish they would make it in magnum for something a little different.

But when you really think about it it is different in that unlike a rifle which can be cumbersome this is not, and a rifle even with a bipod can be awkward to shoot. Of course putting a large clip on such a steady weapon is kind of ridiculous, I mean could you imagine the massive 50 round drum on that thing? There's be nothing left of the bullseye!

If they made it in a heavy bbl with a different stock? Yeah, call it the "Ranger" or something...

Less for plinking, more accuracy, it'd be a squirrel/kit gun.

Ok I can understand the heavier bbl but what wrong with the stock?

Wow cool, however I wouldn't have gone with the break. A silencer would be cool though!

I bought a Henry lever action pistol a few months ago. Same idea: shorten a rifle down to 'bite size'. It's neat, fun to shoot, easy to carry back and forth to the range. Last time out I threw a 1" group at 25 yards with cheap ammo which ain't bad for a pistol.
There was a guy at the range a couple of months ago with a Charger. He had it on a bench with an enormous scope on it and was shooting dime-sized groups but only 7 yards away. Maybe he was just starting to sight it in. I put a magazine through it and it was pleasant, consistent. I'd rather take it outside and stretch its legs a bit to see what it can do at longer ranges.

7 yards with a scope? I shoot 16 with just irons on my 10/22 rifle and 50 if I'm using my scope. I just don't get some of these people!

I really like the Charger. A 10/22 pistol, what is not to like. Like all things 10/22 there is a ton of aftermarket parts.

Of course I am a huge T/C Encore handcannon fan also so...

I just looked up the Thompson Encore, really cool. But can't seem to find a price, how much did you pay for it?
