Throwing people off their game.

We're moving back to another building at work, back to the "Uptight-white collar" dress code after 7 years.
I have ALWAYS had a goatee/mustache! Since I was 25, I might have been clean shaving twice....
till today... My girlfriend, and her kids NEVER have seen me even with a TIGHTLY trimmed goatee/mustache.
I shaved it ALL off. I forgot what my face looked like... Walked by a mirror, and got startled. Thought it was someone else.
Why?
Sometimes? I like throwing people off their game.

When I was growing up, my dad used to grow a beard over the winter and shave it all off when it warmed up in the Spring. One year he did it and my sister, who was 2 or 3 at the time...she threw the biggeswt fit, wondering who the strange man was ho was trying to hold her. I have to admit, dad always did look very strange in the Spring though

I change my look regularly from facial hair to earrings (yes I wear them).
My dad once shaved his mustache for the first time since he was like 30 now 60, it scared our dog.

Had a bud who wore braces for a lot of years. When he got them off, he walked around for several days flashing his teeth. I finally asked him if he got new glasses. He was pissed. . . .

I was 17 the first time I saw my dad without a full beard. After he cut it off, it made his head look really tiny. Myself, I'm constantly switching between beard, goatee, and shaven.

My daughter cried when I shaved my mustache off a few years back.

Facial hair is the fastest growing (noticeable) hair therefore it makes an excellent concealant. When I shave I look too young in my opinion. I keep a year round goatee now and have for quite some time.

Actually ran into a friend of mine who said "Dude? I thought you were Jewish ethnically. You look freakin' Asian."
I had to remind him... Gently, The Huns had Jews, Asians, North Africans, ANYONE who hated the Roman Empire... Therefore... I MIGHT have Asian somewhere along my genetics.
And didn't they find that Ghenghis Khan was the most prosper genetic code with 1 in 17 people carrying his code?
Sooo, WELCOME TO AMERICA! I'm Southern! Dunno the rest!

Man, wish I could grow a full proper beard, like a mountain dude! Or at least one of those awesome curly mustaches of the 19th century British explorer variety.
There is a two finger stripe on each side of my cheeks that nothing grows on, so the best I could do is mutton chops and a goatee for a Gilded age look.
Unfortunately due to some stubborn Semitic dna my facial hair is curly (kinky in un-PC terms) as hell, so I'd look like a young homeless rabbi.
Much respect to the guys that can rock the facial hair properly.

I know what you mean.
After wearing eyeglasses for 38 years, the last 25 or more of which I have had to wear them all day, every day - basically put them on my face as soon as I hop out of the shower and they don't come off until I lay my head on the pillow at night - I have an appointment to have LASIK next week.
My wife and kids are a little wierded out by the thought of seeing me walking around without glasses. My wife of course has "seen" me without glasses, but not all day, driving, doing yard work, etc. My kids have rarely even seen me without glasses, other than temporarily on rare occasions.
My younger daughter (13) says "it's just going to be wierd!"
