Well as most know Sat was a wash out, I was board so I decided to go shoot my pistol. I went to Dominion Shooting Range off turner road. First of all the place was packed, overall the employees were great and very helpful there was one that kind of scared me (he thought the whole world was out to get him)The location of Dominion Shooting Range is close to the city. so some of the shooters freaked me out a little, a couple of thugs loaded there firearms at a bench behind the stations while waiting for a lane to open It kind of surprised me haw many ladies there were shooting i had no idea(not bad on the eyes either) i would rate my overall experience a 8 out of 10 price wasn't to bad. I walked out after a box of 9mm shells, 3 targets, eye and ear protection and range fees with a $28 bill.

If you again see someone loading not on station (not on the line), I encourage you to notify the mgt. They have rules against hot weapons (except theirs) any place except in position, on the firing line.

Such handling and loading "up top" presents a dangerous condition and shows utter disregard and lack of respect for the safety rules.

Thanks for pointing out that rule. The main thing is the safety implication, but etiquette and respect certainly cannot be overlooked. Some people think they can just do what they want, when they want with total disregard for anyone else.

When someone starts to infringe on my rights, that's when I have a problem. Disregarding rules and putting me in danger is an infringement.

oh yea just because the gun comes on its side in the box doesn't mean you shoot it that way, turn firearm vertical

I can't stand that sideways junk. I watched a movie last night called "Usual Suspects" and they got a closeup of the killer's hand shooting sideways as he took someone out. It made me mad at the whole movie.

Reminds me of a class I took once. I proceeded to crack a whole clip off sideway. Lets say the instructor did not find it as funny as I did. Of course we also ended up shooting each others targets that day also. How the hell do you end up with 30 shots in one target?

The people at Dominion are very helpful. They've handled a couple of transfers for me there, and have been very professional. I can't say that I'm fond of the range itself or its location, and their policy of requiring purchase of ammo from them means range sessions with multiple calibers or less common calibers can get very pricey very quickly.

Ya'll don't shoot sideways? I thought everyone had these...........

I got some of those on my CZ. Looks like I might have put them in the wrong place though.

I have also been to Dominion shooting range, some of the guys there are very knowledgeable about guns and give you an unbiased opinion I get all my guns transferred to them. I wish I could bring my own ammo though I rate them a 7/10. I would like to meet some people in the Richmond area shoot and do some scenario based stuff, to me shooting without friends is just not as fun.

Been to Dominion a few times and the staff there is very friendly and helpful. I wish I could bring my own ammo but they would probably have to greatly increase the range fee ($8/day) to make up the lose in ammo revenue. Wish they were closer to me. Having to drive 20 minutes and pay tolls does add to the overall cost.
