Looking for an Attorney

Post by Kuda »

I did the best I could to search for my topic, but was unsuccessful, so if this has been answered, please point me in the right direction...

I live in NOVA and carry concealed here and there. I would like to carry more often, but one lingering concern is, what happens if I am put in a situation where I need to fire my side arm to protect my life or the lives of my family? I would like to have a consultation with an attorney and have one "on retainer" if something was to happen. I have no idea what i am supposed to say or do.

Any suggestions on GREAT attorneys that could assist me. I am looking for someone experienced and not the best deal that has a coupon on TV during Jerry Springer (no offense Jim Sokolove). My and my family's freedom is riding on a decision I may have to make and I want to make sure we are looked after.

Thanks!

Mark Matthews of the Matthews Law Group has just such a program. I believe that its $149 per year. Go to www.thematthewslawgroup.com. Tell him that Jim Reynolds from Proactive Shooters sent you.

Also, we do a class on concealed carry topics that you may find of interest - http://proactiveshooters.com/general-co ... rry-in-va/

Kuda...
i highly recommend Jim (ProShooter) and his classes. i just attended the session he mentions above. lots of critical info and food for further thought. having the proper info and mindset makes a world of difference in building carry confidence.

as Jim says at the end of class: "carry every day!" ;-)

cheers!

I've heard Daniel Hawes of Virginia Legal Defense speak. He is very impressive. He does seminars on firearm law. I would gues you can get individual time with him like you want, but don't know for sure.

Feel free to call me - no charge unless I actually do "work", and I'll let you know before that happens.
Copy the phone number and put it in your wallet and car. 90% of what I do involves firearms and I practice all over Virginia.

Oh, and by the way - a "retainer" is a fee charged on a periodic basis merely for the privilege of saying so-and-so is your lawyer. It doesn't buy you any "work", and is earned when paid. I don't charge a retainer. When you talk to the cops tell them, "Dan Hawes is my lawyer, and I want him here before I answer any questions." You don't need no stinkin' retainer.
