Keeping the streets safe from scary foam bullets, or something
Money quote from the article...
"A toy gun today, a real gun tomorrow,” said Charles Cina, owner of Bona Pizza. “That’s what we want to stop."

you guys laugh, but I can't think of any other reason that I'm a shooter now, than because I played with toy guns as a kid...

No, no other reason at all I just liked playing with squirt guns as a kid so I carry a real gun as an adult. Not because I wish to protect my family, not because I have realized that when seconds count the police are minutes away, not because I might want to put food on my families table in the form of bambi. No the only reason I carry is because I had a supersoaker as a kid

. BTW just so you know actually I was not permitted to have a squirt gun as a kid--nor a nerf gun nor anything else resembling a gun. I still ended up a 2nd amendment fan and a gun owner.

I grew up in the 80s and my parents wouldn't let me watch G.I.Joe and we were not allowed to have any toy guns. But somehow, every stick would shoot bullets and every rock was a hand grenade. Bread could be chewed or molded into the shape of a gun and I would shoot at my baby brother during lunch. In my imagination, everything became a weapon.
Long story short, no guns as a kid, huge gun fan as an adult. Even if my personal inventory is lacking.

The problem is that some adults act like children when it comes to the subject of firearms.
Personally? I think we should organize a "Nerf Guns for the Poor" rally, and have every one drop off Used/New Nerf guns for the poor kids. Let them have a chance to "save the world", or "be the hero".

Uh-OH! ............. As a kid, I used to shoot little girls between the eyes with a squirtgun.
Reckon when I'll start shooting women between the eyes with a REAL gun? Up till now, I never felt the urge to do so, but then I didn't know I was supposed to.

Been done:
Libertarians' Toy-Gun Joke Is a Flop in East Harlem
By NICHOLE M. CHRISTIAN
The Manhattan Libertarian Party had hoped to dramatize its opposition to a City Council proposal to ban toy guns by distributing hundreds of free plastic water pistols yesterday at a public school in East Harlem.
The stunt turned out to be more of a dramatization of how to shoot yourself in the foot.

In related news. Gangs of 9th graders roamed the streets of Buffalo, heavily armed with fully automatic Nerf Vulcans mowing down kids who had just turned in their Nerf guns. The newly disarmed kids tried to shield themselves with bad pizza, folders and dress shirts.
Colin Goddard arrived on the scene to congratulate each of the vicitm's relatives for "sacrificing your children for the sake of gun violence." NYC Mayor Bloomberg called the "9/11 of our day" as he directed the massive rescue operation from his sealed bunker in The Hamptons. Governor Cuomo called for the immediate ban on the extra hurtful "dome capped" Nerf darts as they left small welts and "screamed through the air" causing sevear trauma to victims and by-standers alike.
A candlight vigil is scheduled for tonight out side of the "Buds-n-Suds" laudromat & bar.

If exposure to guns and gun stuff on TV ,Media, etc had any true negative effect on people most of us would be raving lunatics/// The 50's and 60's had constant guns almost all the time on the tube and I got my first gun at 10 yrs old so by their logic I must be a complete nut job!!! Screw Em all and Bloomberg twice!!

This is another foolish attempt to brainwash our children with the concept that firearms are bad. Troubling is the fact that the recent riots in the UK show us that this type of "education" is ineffective. People need to learn to care and respect others, its that simple, unfortunately everything today is about "me".

I'm gonna go on a limb here and assume none of you have been to Buffalo.
It's Detroit-lite; massive amounts of taxpayer $ spent to "revitalize" a lost cause long blighted by loss of obsolete industry, horrific winters, entire streets deserted and left to rot, enormous numbers of alcoholics/drug addicts, and a comically corrupt city government.
What I'm getting at is, if I was unfortunate enough to live or own a business in Buffalo, I'd do anything to try and attract attention and ideally business too.
