AWD is a funny guy
Or perhaps it’s the sheeple themselves, so *$#@&@! braindead as to believe a) that somehow this whole circus makes anyone safer, or b) that bi-monthly full-body x-rays are perfectly safe!, or c) that half of these jobs, paid for by us working stiffs, aren’t just charity make-work jobs for libtards’ pet NAMs who otherwise would be harassing and stealing from pedestrians on the sidewalks of their ‘hoods…instead of harassing and stealing from pedestrians in airline terminals (with the blessing of the gubmint, por supuesto).
Bingo.

Nice! I do like a good piece of common sense outrage. Especially one I share.

OK, so last week I flew out of Norfolk and showed my military ID at the initial checkpoint. The guy examined it like he had never seen one before. He eventually made a mark on it and sent me on to the scanning station. After passing through the scanner, I was told that I had been identified for additional screening. I was expecting a frisking, but intead they collected my belongings from the conveyor and swabbed them for explosives. FWIW, what they could observe of me is that I am a middle-aged senior officer of apparently Northern European heritage. Things they probably didn't know, but which added to my annoyance, are that I am an Afghanistan veteran and former NCIS agent. Perhaps I fit the profile of a potential terrorist as identified by DoJ not too long ago... This PC ridiculosity is going to kill us!

Here is a thought, the idiot saw a military ID and then said to himself "They handle firearms and explosives, right? I might get a positive reading from this one." Even if you had a completely rational explanation as to why it might come up positive, the morons would probably have to go through 3 levels of supervisors and then call Washington to figure out that they could let you on the plane

I carried my personal computer to Iraq in a padded sleeve in a Camelbak assault pack, other times that backpack had various items in including thousands of dollars worth of sensitive items, NVGs and radios and ammunition, some f which had been in theater for several years. I continue to use that pack today, I have little doubt that mine would probably test positive. I wouldn't have been surprised if the computer was tested later and came up positive for ammo related residue, who knows how many times I carried ammo in it. I don't think I ever had ammo break open and leak the powder, however I did have magazines that had hundreds and thousands of rounds through them and I am sure they got some residue in and on them while in a rifle that was fired. I don't even know what there little test swabs would find Brass? Copper? Lead? imagine what a plumber's stuff would test like...
