How many years until we get the state back because there is no one left, because they can't procreate?
Yeah, that'll work because gay people haven't heard of adoption, donor insemination, or in-vitro fertilization.

Worst argument ever.

It is not a strawman because I have seen and heard of people advocating for the right to have plural marriage (polygamous marriages) since the early 1800. Early Mormonism called for plural marriages. I have seen and heard of people wanting to marry animals and inanimate objects. A straw man is something that is not actually happening but is simply hypothetical. Plural marriages are not hypothetical, neither is the other wierd stuff.

yall did not address my question though. Are you ok with Mr Smith from Salt Lake city having 5 wives. Are you ok with Mr. Atta from Dearborne having 6 wives? That is at least a valid question.

I'm a deist, so I have no religious definition of marriage. Plus, I'm a pescetarian, so I don't go to Chik-fil-A anyway...

However, I feel compelled to ask: if Chick-fil-A were, say, founded by a Hasidic Jew instead of a Southern Baptist, do you think this controversy would exist?

I can do you one better than that. Islam is no friend to the gay person. As much as gays whine about homophobes and bigots and Christians, they should be thankful for the non violence and compassion for the "sinner" that Christianity fosters. In Islamic countries if they think a person is a homosexual they simply execute him. I am not saying by any means that we should do that--absolutely not--just pointing out differences in religious responses to something they deem unacceptable.

So if this was not a Christian business man but instead was an Islamic businessman saying this....would there be this uproar? I doubt it.

This is not about god or marriage, it's about buisness and capitalism. Besides we have just as much right to be as miserable as all you straight folk. :hysterical:

Also for the record I'm not upset with chick-fil-a for sticking to it's guns (I'm actually proud of them for it), I'm upset that they have the absolute audacity to serve such a nasty sandwich. :bangin:
The whole idea of homosexuality as being akin to the civil rights struggles is total BS!

Your sexuality or choice to not, is just that A CHOICE!

I don't hate gays...never give them a thought unless they do vile and dispicable things in front of families. If that's the case they should be prosecuted like anyone else.

In the words of a very good friend of mine who happens to be black;

"Gay's claiming injustice is like the black civil rights struggle is total BS.

If I'm gay and wake up in the morning and decide I don't wanna be, I'm not gay.
If you're bleck and wake up in the morning and don't wanna be, you're still black!"

I know of no Christian that holds any hate for gays. They simply believe the Bible and that offends the GLBT crowd on its own. I know no Christian that would hurt or abuse someone for gayness. I wish the reverse was true!

It's not...

Where's the hate here???????????????

and here;
"Be damned with your morals and burn the churches,"
oxymoronic a statement as it is...

I don't know if I'd be against Mr Smith having 5 wives. I'd imagine the life expectancy of all the Mr Smiths out there would be lower than the national average. One wife is more than enough for me. I think Mr Smith would have a problem because the system would have to be retooled to accommodate more than one spouse when filling out forms and such and I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon.

As for Mr Smith marrying his car or some other inanimate object I don't think that will happen anytime soon either as his car has no way to enter into contracts, make decisions on his behalf, look out for his best interests, etc.

Being gay is not a choice. Sure, some people do it (especially young women, it seems) for the shock factor. For most, though, it's the way they are. The science is still pending on this, but the majority don't wake up one day and decide, "Hmm, I think I will prefer my own gender today."

It is a strawman to bring up multiple marriages. It's the same tactic anti-gunners use.

AG: "No more than 10 rounds in a clip. No one needs more than 10 rounds."
2A: "Why are you putting an artificial restriction on how many rounds I can have? You know people can change magazines so it is a silly rule."
AG: "Oh, I suppose you think you should be able to own chemical weapons, biological weapons, and a nuke, too!"

The question is whether one adult may join in union with another adult. That's it. Polygamy is another question, as is bestiality.

As far as whether the chain was founded by a Muslim or a Jew... who knows. I will say that the political correctness in the USA is just an infringement of our 1st Amendment rights through other methods.

In... Korea. Last time I checked, we were discussing the USA. In case you're confused, here is South Korea. It's not a part of Virginia or the USA.

Besides, gimmick weddings like this often do not have the power of a legal union. It's just a gimmick, unlike, say, the 30s wedding of Kim Kardashian. Then again, that was a marriage between a man and a woman and it preserved the wholesome sanctity of marriage.

Your sexuality IS a choice.

Unless you have fallen prey to the humanistic religious docterine that you're only an animal like a dog.

BTW the science IS out... the "gay gene" was a hoax.

Then, doctor, explain to me genome by genome, marker by marker, why we are straight. As our Founding Fathers would have said, stick to science and Reason, and explain it to us.

You can't. No one can. It's a mystery.

Your logic is flawed. Animals do engage in homosexual activity at times, but the overriding animal drive is to procreate. Are you arguing now that it's a choice to be a heterosexual? So, essentially, you are invalidating your own argument.

Side note - I never said your faith was flawed or ridiculous. I never said you have "fallen prey" to the teachings of your ministers. Now you're making unveiled ad hominem attacks on those who believe a certain way (secular humanism).

Drove by the Charlottesville location today on the way to Lowes. Place was packed again. That makes 3 days in a row. Only saw one protester on the entrance road with a "Stop The Hate" sign. Didn't go in, so no idea if the kiss-in was happening. Might go back later cuz I still want to try one of these milk shakes everyone's raving about.

well here is a confirmed example. Best Buy contributes to the Terrorist Organization (CAIR) http://www.inquisitr.com/222475/is-best ... terrorism/ but no one on the left made a peep. As for me, I don't set foot in their stores anymore.

I stopped by the Glen Allen CF today for lunch. I didn't see any protests there.
