To bad it would be total RACIST and not Politically Correct to have a white or hispanic organization that could help come to the aid of this family. You know something like in the Zimmerman case, maybe the N.A.W.P(National Association of White People) then maybe we could get some answers for this case. It's been way to long and you know they are sweeping this under the table.

no comparison.
not gonna let this go. there need to be answers one way or the other. if zimmerman can get all the way to a bond hearing in 4 to 6 weeks, there's no excuse for the silence this incident.

i will continue to bump this thread occasionally, unless the mods shut it down or tell me not to. i'm not gonna let this get swept under the rug and forgotten, no matter which way it goes.

Nor do I care if you do, and if you couldn't sense the sarcasm, my apologies. I hope you are never put into a position where the people who know the least about that situation are judging you the most.

Just saw on the Times Dispatch page, yeah I don't trust them either, but the husband filed a 5.35 million dollar suit in this case.

More injustice from cops

Post by scrubber3 »

Here is a fun fact for all. Most cars made in the last 15 to 20 years depending on model and year of course are equipped with a safety system in the window motor/ regulators that will cause them to stop and reopen if it meets resistance before it ends it's cycle. If the vehicle has a body control module, it should have this safety system. Now I don't know about you guys, but depending on make model and year of car the lady was driving this could mean that the story of arm being trapped in window is a complete lie and there is more to it. Hopefully someone brings this to the attention of the investigators.
I had a SCAR 17 and 16. I also had a bunch of Glocks and a couple H&K pistols. Oh and a DDM4, but I sold everything when our government told me these dangerous tools can actually hurt someone. Apparently they grow legs and go on killing sprees.

See, that doesn't make any sense.... He couldn't get his arm out before she hand cranked it up? Sorry but that's BS. I don't believe there is any way she cranked the window up on his arm. And if she did, this guy has no business being a cop to begin with.

Also mentioned in the article "If the officer did put his arm inside the vehicle, he broke protocol". If the investigation does find that the officer broke protocol, and shot this woman without cause, he needs to be brought to justice like anyone else would be. And the husband should win his case, although I believe the Commonwealth of Virginia sets limits on everything that might cost them any large sum of money.

Actually scrubber3 most hand crank windows are capable of going up or down much faster than electric windows. It would also depend how far his arm was in the window and how narrow the open was. If it was half open your assumption would be correct, if it was 2 1/2 inches or so and you had more than your fingers in it wouldn't be too difficult, especially if you got distracted for just a second.

I have a 1995 Honda product with electric windows, I am going to test your other idea by trying to close it on an empty soda bottle and see what happens. Honda has always been a big proponent of safety features, so if you are correct, it should reopen itself after it hits some resistance...
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

More injustice from cops

Honda product? A civic, crx, accord? Like I said, it depends of you have a body control module. Dude... I'm 33 years old and turned wrenches for a good bit after I got out of the army. ASE This and ASE that... Worked as a lead tech and service manager as well. I'm pretty sure anyone in their right mind could pull their arm out of a window before someone could hand crank a window shut. Now if it was cracked just enough for him to get his arm in there, he had zero business sticking it in there to begin with. This would be the only case where I could see someone trapping his arm in with the window. If you would like I could video my Infiniti performing the safety measure and post a link to it. Whatcha think?

Had a late 90s Acura at one point with electric windows.... It never stopped on my hand, I got my fingers stuck trying that one time... Only the "Down" button unstuck me....

Just went outside and recorded my infiniti perform the measure. I can see where some lower end cars wouldnt have it though ..... I'll actually have to make a YouTube account to post a link. Give me some time. I'm sure someone on here has a vehicle that does it and of I'm not mistaken I think they all have to do it now for safety reasons.

I hate to say it scrubber but my 2004 honda civic with electric windows will and it has ate fingers before , and when it did I had to push the button to roll with window down and free the trapped fingers. I am also a ASE holder with both automotive and heavy truck, that being said the safety feature that you are talking about is not mandatory and because of that many car companys bypass it to save money. I am not trying to start anything just figured I would give my .02 cents.

I guess it was just hearsay a few years ago when I was told they'd all be going that route. Well, just a thought..... I'm in the medical field now anyway so you'd probably know better for today's standards.
