I recently got an e-mail for one of my state legislators expressing that he was troubled by the Trump candidacy and urging my support of Rubio. I answered as follows:

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Dear <dumplinhead>,

I, too, am troubled about Mr. Trump as a potential Republican candidate.

He’s obnoxious,
He’s superficial,
He’s mercurial,
He’s so vague on issues and policies that one is left wondering whether it is out of ignorance or deceit,
He’s a lifelong associate and supporter of liberal democratic candidates and initiatives,
He’s been on both sides of most if not all issues that true conservatives hold dear,
If he’s not a narcissistic megalomaniac, he’ll do until one comes along.

But those are not the most troubling and puzzling things to me about Trump as a candidate for the Republican nomination. Surely, the reason conservatives are so disaffected with establishment Republicans that so-called “outsiders” are thriving as they are is all those DEALS the establishment has struck with the liberal/progressive democrats that welshed on campaign promises and compromised bedrock principles of liberty and conservative values. And what is THE THING that Trump has specialized in, celebrated as his secret to success and even written books about the art of? Why, DEALS, of course! “I’ll get along with everybody and work things out”, he says.

What are these people THINKING?

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Further, I’ve said all along that Cruz is, IMO, the best man for the job. Not sure he can or has been in the past able to suck hard enough to get elected.

But I must admit that it sticks in my craw to have the republican establishment elite decide who shall be anointed. It ain’t like their track record in the last two Presidential or state gubernatorial and senate races justifies their self-appointment as “the deciders”. Heck, that they want Rubio may be the strongest argument against the boy.

Wife and I tried to watch the slug-fest last night. Her idea, not mine. We made it Trumps statement about "No problems down there" and turned it off. Not sure what she was expecting. Didn't surprise me any.

Then I see this morning that all three of them have agreed to support whomever becomes the nominee. Wait. What?

They spend the last few months calling each other names and acting like 6th graders, but they're gonna support the other guy if he's the nominee. :hysterical:

I'm done.

I have a better idea, let's make it a pay-per-view event. My only stipulation is that the "match" is to take place inside a ring surrounded by chain link fence.

ding ding...

With the presumption that Trump does not get to 1,237 (or whatever the number is), this is a plausible scenario. On the other hand, if he does, then I think the Republican power brokers are still screwed because HIllary will demolish Trump with a constant stream of people "injured" by Trump in one way or another.

And how about Cruz thinking he can beat Trump, but he needs help, and fast! I don't think Cruz can beat Trump. Not enough support. Make no mistake, I'd much rather see Cruz than Trump win the nomination, but neither of them can beat Hillary.

I'm not going to try to predict whether or not Trump can beat Shrillary in a general election, but I will point this out:

The standard Republican response to a Democrat attack is to either apologize profusely for whatever the Democrat has accused him of, or to meekly deny the charge, then let it go. From what we have seen from the Donald, thus far, I have a hard time believing that he would follow standard Republican protocol.

Trump is very likely going to go after Hillary on anything he can. He's already started. When she started to accuse him of waging a war on women, he countered with her tendancy to enable Bill in his desire to rape women.

Trump is not naive. He hasn't been just blundering along. My guess is that he has been accumulating information to use against Hillary, for a long time.

Whether or not it's going to make a difference, I can't say.

I hope you are right. I have a ton of friends in mourning right now. Not sure what to make of them. Trump is not ideal, but then none of the candidates were. He is an enormous blowhard. But that could be a good thing.

They want to fight this dainty like a fencing match. That is not how it goes these days The dems have been throwing mud for 20 years and it is high time the republican learn how to do the same. I don't love trump but I don't see it as the end of the republic.

You know what? No matter who wins, Conservatives are bluntly screwed.

No kissing, No dinner, No flowers... just... screwed...

And it will be the end of this nation. Period.

I cannot see another 4-8 years of stupidity in the White House.

There are elections this year for Congress too. We need a movement to throw out all sellouts and career politicians

I LMAO constantly at the people discounting Trump & his chances. They've been wrong since day one. The idea that Hillary will crush Trump is beyond laughable. :hysterical: Im of the opinion that Trump would beat her, especially if the RNC stops their temper tantrum & gets behind the people's choice.

Trump has gotten more votes than any of the R candidates, it's not even close. He's won what 19-20 states out of 29, or 2/3 of the states so far, he's won 1/2 the delegates so far... this is a race that started with 17. He's clearly the candidate the people want on the R side. He's still got a legit shot at getting the 1237 too.

If Trump has the most delegates decidedly... meaning, a lead of bigger than a few delegates BUT, short of 1237.... AND the RNC puts somebody else as the nominee..... chalk it up. Hillary will be the next Pres. It will solely be on the RNC for electing her too. Many Trump supporters & those that have cast primary votes for Trump WILL NOT support a bogus candidate that is put in place in such a manner. The result will be either, to abstain, or write in their candidate.

You can't rig the system against the candidate the people want/voted for, then blame that candidate when you lose...... and lose they will if that is the route taken.

That is a great ad ...Saw it about 25 times yesterday and enjoyed it every time. I think when Trump is finished with it , it would make a perfect Geico commercial .
