We live on a Pipe stem and share it with and elderly couple so i try and take care of most of it myself. I said earlier this year that this is the year I buy a snow blower. Well I did not get one in time and when I went to get one they were sold out. I did borrow a neighbors this year though. Made a huge difference in clearing the stem. When they are back in stock I will be buying one.

Got to blast some zombie snowmen today 20 gauge style. Snowmen were packed with green dye goo for special effects.
Unfortunately, no video of their demise.

.
Took the Rubicon for a quick survey of the neighborhood the day after the blizzard. It was fun, I was having a good time, but then the front-loader showed up. :-(

3' of snow minimum; 5-6' drifts everywhere; some even taller (I'm short, so all I know it's a lot). Got the driveway and walkway dug out to the mailbox, but there's still 10' more of snow 4' high on the road I gave up on.

I've had all the snow and cold weather that I can take for a while . The snow plow came down our road about 5 p.m. And of course left each drive way a nice pile of fresh snow ! So I had to clear a few before they froze again !

BE CAREFUL!

Just saw the Snow/Ice slide off the neighbors roof, and come down HARD!

And I mean quite a BIT of it!

Careful of these new 2-stage blowers. They clog very easily, even in relatively dry snow. Was looking at the new 3-stage blowers (just an extra auger on the front), and the Cub Cadets get very high marks. But these new blowers aren't as good as the old single-stage machines.

In total, I recovered 7 vehicles that were stuck in snow while trying to drive. 6 of the 7 were on the same stretch of road on Packard Drive. Today, my neighbor, Ben, posted this sign at the top of the street where everyone was getting stuck, in an effort to end the madness...

Hah! Yesterday (Monday) a coworker told me they were surprised to realize that I was at work... since they didn't see my motorcycle out front! :hysterical:

To be honest... it has been about 5 weeks... probably a record since I moved south to Virginia!

I did think about it this morning....

I can relate. When I lived in RI, it was only "motorcycle weather" by Va standards for 2 months out of the year. If you didn't ride when it was cold, you didn't get much seat time in.

Take it from someone who got stuck driving home from work in the snow on more that 1 or 2 occasions. It sucks, even for a diehard.

BUT, today you had no excuses. LOL

My 18 years before Virginia was Minnesota and Wisconsin, so I understand that! A long, hardcore, motorcycle season started the end of February and ended before Thanksgiving.

Yep. I was on the road and rolling, before I realized that it would have been viable to ride today, so my excuse is I was in auto-pilot mode.

As for riding in the snow... well... one of my friends and I, back in high school, would often go out blasting drifts and having low-speed races on frozen ponds, with our motorcycles! In the upper mid-west, if you can't figure out how to have fun in the snow, you can write off about 360 days out of the year! As they say "40 below and snow... keeps the riff-raff out".

Meh, you can keep your snow. It's almost 65 degrees here today. :beach:

I finally got outta the house today!

Five Days in... like prison, only with teeeny-tiny computer button pressing guards.

After getting my lotto, picking up a replacement snow shovel (mine broke Sunday), a hair cut, and a coffee from Starbucks.

I felt almost human again...

The road in? SUCKS! It's Godawful! Nice going VDOT! You made it WORSE!

Mom's is worse than mine according to The Woman. She stopped by, and checked on her today.
