Re: New Gun Shop in Herndon
Flavet,
Ability to send PMs isn't working on my side:
Here goes:
Flavet,
Nice! We like it when someone knows what they want. What kind of pistol "Operating System" are you looking for? TDA, DAO, Striker Fired? We'll have a good selection for you to choose from! I can assure you that our prices will be competitive. I can't promise the absolute lowest price considering that they tend to fluctuate in the area, but we're not out to rip people off. Is there a special manufacturer you are partial too? Are you and your wife looking to have the same gun?
If so, I can recommend the Glock 19 right off the bat, with the Ruger SR-9 being a close 2nd. The Glock 19 is probably the closest one can come to having a "perfect" concealed carry handgun, and the SR-9 has the smallest double stack circumference available to a Polymer 9MM. The Grip is similar to a 1911 angle
As for the Hi-Point rifles, we'll look into those, but while we place our first orders, initial findings have been that these are looking at a significant backlog. We'll look around, their definitely cheap enough to have.
We can definitely offer advice on sighting augmentation, but the Hi-Point iron sights are pretty nice by themselves and 9MM carbines tend to lose a lot of "oomph" past 75 yards. I'd probably look at one of those "Red Dot" sights for the Hi-Point. They allow for fast target acquisition, and can be used by either left or right eye dominated folks.

Congratulations on getting your FFL! I live in Reston and although I shoot at Blueridge Arsenal and have purchased at Blueridge and Loundon Guns, I will definitely support your shop! How much will your shop charge for firearm transfers (guns primarily purchased out of state) and will you offer consignment?
Again, congratulations and I look forward to your shop's grand opening. Good luck, Mark

Thank you!
Firearms transfers are $25.00, with $10.00 for each additional firearm if done in the same transaction. After 5, your 6th one is free.
Consignments are also $25.00 for each firearm. Once we get our E-Store up and running, they will also be advertised there as part of that service.
Check out our Website: www.novaarmament.com for other details.

hmm...maybe I oughtta dust off my resume...
ETA: Maybe y'all oughtta make up a job application. I've never had to fix up a resume for a retail job before (although I can see how it would be useful here, given the subject matter)

Don't get to NoVa much so I may never be at your store, but I will take a look at the e-store when it gets up. Did enjoy the testimonial section of the web site. I wondered how you would get testimonials for a store that does not open for 28 days. Best of luck.

We thought the Testimonials section was going to go away, but both owners really like and admire certain features of Teddy Roosevelt, Custer and Lincoln.wally626 wrote:Don't get to NoVa much so I may never be at your store, but I will take a look at the e-store when it gets up. These will be replaced in due time.

This is pretty sexy on the front page of your website. Is this installed, as pictured, at your store?

Not yet, we're thinking about doing something like that once we decide whether or not to go for our Class III license. In the meantime:allingeneral wrote:This is pretty sexy on the front page of your website. Is this installed, as pictured, at your store?

Re: New Gun Shop in Herndon
My calendar says we are one week away from the NOVA Armament grand opening (Saturday, January 30, 2010). Anybody want to do a meet & greet there? Perhaps show up around 11am and then maybe head off to an OC lunch around noon?
According to Google Maps, it is right in the old downtown area of Herndon near the railroad park. Jimmy's Old Town Tavern is close by.

Guess I'll have to make a trip over to Herdon/Reston area that day. I'm in the market for a Glock 19 and had planned on looking at the upcoming Dulles gunshow but I'll give these folks a chance at getting my business firstLFS wrote:My calendar says we are one week away from the NOVA Armament grand opening (Saturday, January 30, 2010). Yup. I figure meet at 11am at the store. Look around, talk to the owners. Then head over to Jimmy's Tavern around noon, eat and talk ourselves into purchasing another gone by rationalizing it with the up coming zombie apocalypse, and the perhaps head back to the store for said purchase.KaosDad wrote:I am very much looking forward to this!
