As for his actions in court, I'm guessing he's going to claim insanity and is already in character to try to convince everyone.

What surprises me most is that the police allowed him to surrender. Some have been shot by police forty to fifth times for holding a wallet or hair brush.

ironically the joker is always portrayed with green hair... it sounds like he was having trouble with his doctorate and his solution was to shoot a bunch of innocent people- glad to know higher education is attracting the best and the brightest

marked8 wrote:As many of you have probably heard by now, a gunman in full body armor entered a movie theater in Colorado and opened fire on a midnight showing of the Dark Knight rises. At this point of the morning they are saying 14 dead and 50 wounded. In every comment section I have read this morning the loonies have been out calling for more gun control. Do they not realize how bad this country would be without law abiding citizens being able to carry? The crime norms of D.C. and Chicago would be in place everywhere.
I am sure the mainstream nuts will be out in full force later today
No, they don't want to realize it, they are too stupid to understand that more gun control laws for the bad guys to ignore won't help. Some how these idiots think that disarming all the responsible law abiding citizens and leaving the guns in the hands of the bad guys is going to solve a problem. Unfortunately this is what passes for logic. Its not the culture of violence on the streets where these vermon earn street credits for gun crime or the violent rap crap or the violence in the video games or the movies or the whole generation growing up in this fantasy video game world they live in where everything is virtual this and virtual that or the low lifes spitting out babies like rabbits to feed at the public trough or all the crack heads raising (or not) these fatherless kids,no,its the evil guns. Not the stupid idiots that use them to commit their crimes. They will blame anything so long as they don't have to address the real problem because political incorrectness forbids them from identifying the real problem. These gutless wonders would not dare attack the cause of this garbage so they create a boogyman (guns) to blame it on. This is how these educated idiots deal with everything and the worst part is that no matter how many of these dummies put out these lies, there are more dummies that believe it. I guess you can detect a little frustration here, bet you all feel it too.

All their cry for gun control is the reaction of a paniced group of ididots that have no conception of what life is really like, Being responsible for their own safety is a fact they just cannot fathom in their little world of paranoia that all too sadly other like feeeling idiots are more than willing to use to exploit them to their own gain... Rather than get stronger and take up for themselves they think the government or police or some fairy Godmother is supposed to deliver them from the reality that they could conceiveably get their ass killed at any time and their ain't $hit anyone or thing can do to avoid it if they continue to sit on their hands and wait for someone else to take care of them/

The only time the Joker had red hair was when he wore the wig in the hospital acting as a nurse. If you think about it, it fits since he also worked at a hospital for a time.
Today there is a story that uplifted me a bit, it seems that ordinary people "get it":

Colorado gun stores are seeing a big jump in demand for firearms since last Friday's massacre at a midnight movie showing in Aurora.

Background checks for people wanting to buy guns in Colorado reportedly increased more than 41 percent after last week’s Aurora movie massacre. The Denver Post reports that firearm instructors have also seen increased interest in training needed for a concealed-carry permit.

"It's been insane," Jake Meyers, an employee at Rocky Mountain Guns and Ammo in Parker told the newspaper Monday.

Between Friday and Sunday, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation approved background checks for 2,887 people who wanted to purchase a firearm — a 43 percent increase over the previous Friday through Sunday and a 39 percent jump over those same days on the first weekend of July.

The biggest spike was on Friday, when there were 1,216 checks, a 43 percent increase over the average number for the previous two Fridays.

On Friday morning, just hours after alleged 24-year-old gunman James Holmes killed 12 and injured 58 others at the Century Aurora theater, up to 20 people were already waiting outside the store when Meyers arrived, he said.

He said the day was “probably the busiest Monday all year” and said basic firearms classes that he and the store’s owner conduct are booked for the next three weeks — a first for this year, the newspaper reports.

"A lot of it is people saying, 'I didn't think I needed a gun, but now I do,' " he told the newspaper. "When it happens in your backyard, people start reassessing — 'Hey, I go to the movies.'"

Agreed Bill, the conversations I'm having with folks are positive, but I work with a socialist whose grumbling about "stupid people buying assault rifles", (shrugs) NMP-SEP...

Does anyone realistically see any consquences for us from this? Despite the yapping I'm not forseeing any real blowback on us, though it may not shock me if some federal restriction on shipping ammo (damned state lines) in certain quantities results from this, you know "common sense" crap like that, despite the fact he bought his stuff locally and all.

The anti-gunners are furious no one listens to them anymore, I don't think this will be the viagra to their impotent rage.

@Kreutz, it appears to me that, of late, the more that they protest, the more that they "protest too much". We still need to keep an eye on them and our lawmakers, though

No disagreement there, but the article on Coloradians arming up that marked8 shared is highly reassuring and its getting play on the MSM, which reinforces just how common (i.e. normal) gun ownership is. The Jared turd in AZ resulted in nothing bad for gun owners, I don't see Ronald McDonald here accomplishing much for the Brady types, our politicians suck but they're not stupid; they remember the AWB and its results for their jobs.
