Oh man I am sorry that sucks. I thought the same thing happened to me...dispite giving them 4 months notice....I told them that there is no way I was going to be in. I am organizing a big bbq. Hopefully you will find some one to cover you. Luckily they had already pulled me off the schedule.

Dear friends ! Hope you´ll remember me .... I´ve shared with some of you a Meeting last year at Sgte Bill´s .... It was an unforgettable experience ... You´ve been so friendly and generous with me and my kids . Hope you have a great time this week end.

just got back home! You are awesome! that bbq was great and it was nice to meet all of you there! Now i need to find some tannerite for next time LOL! ( When IS next time?)

It was great to meet everyone. A BIG thanks to Tanya (TacticalMom) for the BBQ and to everyone else who brought something to share. Thanks, also to Tanya for helping get this all put together.

My family and I had a good time. The Cove is really a neat place. The kids rented a kayak and a flat-bottom jon boat to row around the lake. I wasn't too impressed with the ranges, but would have been much happier if we hadn't seen a young boy (maybe 12 or 13) being "muzzle-happy". He was just waving it around like it was no big deal. He actually pointed a rifle at his dad's head "jokingly" while his dad's back was turned at one point! I went to talk to the guy about it, and he said he would "keep an eye on him". I suggest that he gets some eyes in the back of his head before he finds a bullet there! (I didn't tell him that, as he seemed put-off that I said anything to him about it at all). We left the range area and headed back to the picnic after that went down. Didn't see them again, so I assume they weren't VGOF'ers.

The road up to the range was an interesting ride. I really enjoyed it

All-in-all, some good camaraderie and some good food. Got to put some lead down-range. It was a good day! Thanks again to everyone who participated!

Thanks goes out to VGOF for renting the pavilion. That was nice. I am really glad it all came together. We avoided rain, and it was lovely and not super hot outside. I loved and love cooking for people. Logistically for me cooking for 4 is no harder than cooking for 30 some odd people. =)

I am just glad it came out well, and people liked it. I will cook again for people if they want it. Maybe we can do something around the holidays?

I will have to see what my schedule is like. It is already getting crazy.

if i want a weekend off i have to put in 1 mo. ahead. just let me know asap so i can request it.

I had a blast, good times running the plate rack with SecurityOperator. I went back up after dinner and beat the rain by backing my truck up under the canopy I brought. Worked out right nice and we invited a couple other shooters(no forum members) under it to shot with us. In return they let us shot there M44, ARs, and a S&W .44. The trail up there was fun for my F150 2x4, 4 wheel drive is overrated! Again thanks to TacitalMom and Rick along with everyone that brought anything. It was great!

Congrats to all that make this what appears to be a really successful event! Looks like y'all had a great time!
