I've long been partial to this one, perhaps his most famous and justly so, well this or the one about thieves:
G. K. Chesterton wrote:"The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and Progressives. The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of the Conservatives is to prevent the mistakes from being corrected."
How sad that the men that should have more comtempt for the status qou then any one else in the country. Who has chained you up?
Who has taken away your choice and beaten you down to the point that you have given up on what I chose to defend and what most of you on here give lip service to.
Why vote for someone who will not make things better. Go ahead and listen to your masters and let them tell you its impossible and you cannot change anything really becuase its too ingrained in the people to stick with the poop they are handed.
How sad that we are wasting our time voting which is what you are all basically saying. What should it tell you when you are told you cannot accomplish putting somone into office that actually stands for you liberties and our countries futur.
And to the original post do some research you castrated sheep. Most of RP supporters are young. RP gets more money from active duty military then all the GOP candidates combined and more then obama. RP has over and over again debated people in senat hearings and always stands up and ask the questions that matters. DO YOU RESEARCH BEFORE YOU SPOUT OFF WHAT YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT PLEASE. This attitude that you should just go for the nicer smelling poop just becuase you dont think the right choice is plausible is why we are here in the first place.
sorry for my rant and if I offended anybody im sorry but please read up on what makes our country great we should be the ones that defend this great country not buying into the problems for comfort.

I was going to point this out, but since you already did I expand on it a bit.
Hitching ourselves to a RINO for 4 or worse still, 8 years is very likely to just set up the next big socialist Democrat victory. If we can't get a real candidate this go around given how disastrous Obama has been, we aren't getting one any time soon. Seriously, we can just about run anyone and win so long as they have a clear and attributable course which differentiates itself from more of the same failed Obama policies. A smooth talker like Obama didn't even have to do that given how fed up the populous was with Bush!

The distressing thing about all those folks who support the left because of the free ride it promises is that THEY know how to always vote in their own best interest. We conservatives would do well to hold our noses and do likewise in November. That said, I readily acknowledge that it is your vote to do with as you like.
Noticing a trend here, ya'all think Obama is the worst thing ever, a symptom of a rapidly decaying nation just giving up to the evil of socialism. If that's really how you feel, if you really think its that bad, that far gone, why are you trying to "minimize" damage? Isn't that like rearranging the furniture in a house that was abandoned ages ago and is now a warped rotten shell useless to anyone?
Isn't it better to just push it over and rebuild to better suit you?
You conservatives always lose because we take a foot and you fight to the death for an inch. By your very nature you are reactionaries; not revolutionaries.
+1
Is it irony that our "pet" socialist knows our problem better than us?
With all due respect to both you and our pet socialist, he's not elucidating our "problem". What he's doing is encouraging to do what will help HIS pet socialist (Obama) win in another term. I ain't buying it.

Gun-crazy? Me? I'd say the gun-crazy ones are the ones that don’t HAVE one.

2nd amendment
4th amendment
10th amemdment
abiding by the constitution
illegal Executive orders
Deficit spending
I could go on and on.
Give me someone who TRULY believes and supports the constitution as the supreme law of the land.
I would also love to vote for a true conservative who would simply cut every Federal Agency by 10% and mandate all cut be to administrative spending just as a first move. But I will not waste my vote and thereby contribute to sending that socialist butthole back to the White House for 4 more years.
America is on the brink of passing the point of no return. Another 4 years of Obama will seal our fate.

And theres that knee-jerk reactionism.
I genuinely could not care less about who wins. And by and by, voting for Prez is truly pointless as the popular vote is useless. Not sure why there is such a big deal about the Prez elections. People turn out (in relative) high numbers for the one election where their vote really is worthless, but ignore the local ones where one vote does make a difference.
Democracy is funny in theory and dangerous in practice.
Chris, I am not castrated nor am I a sheep. The RP is not a majority younger party (meaning under 40 years of age). To say this is absolute ignorance. Look at any college nowadays and see how many voted for McCain. Get your facts straight then come have an intelligent conversation with me. Do you vote? Do you give money to the RP cause? Are you young? If so, pass go and collect a lollipop (your young remember). Your rant was intirely against the wrong person. My intent was to cause thought, not provoke ignorant arguments. I believe if you read the whole post again, and put your thinking cap on you might, just might be able to comprehend what is being said. And yes I believe you meant to upset or piss me off by your post. At least have the heart to say what you mean. And one last thing, Ron Paul has great ideas and beliefs (as far as I know) however a vote should mean something. I defended our rights to vote, freedom of speech ect... and I take those rights seriously. wake up America.
davas smit ---im young im in the military i volunteer and give money and read alot mostly about history and reloadng haha. I wasnt exactly focused on you mostly the constant excuses its just sad but its true republicans wont change they will take whats presented to win even if it isn't what they want. But I would love to have a good conversation anytime and see how ya feel on stuff it is always interesting and my last couple batches of homebrew just finished carbonating so if you wanna try some beers I brewed up your more than welcome.
