Faux is bad because it is (biased) opinion masquerading as news. It also has a very checkered history in the realm of actually reporting facts.

This is not unique to Faux news, check out the shenanigans the News of the World (another Murdoch gem) have been up to. Tampering with investigations of missing people may have led to a death or two. Whoopsie!

Seems right-wingers are simply incapable of objective journalism.

As for MSNBC etc, truth be told they simply lack the checkered history and ballsy lies Faux does. Lets take one off the top of my head, good ole boy-hungry Mark Foley, a Republican from FL. We cant have Republicans trying to pound boys butts, so lets just make him a Democrat.

Image

A simple mistake? Or one that ran several different times over the day on different shows? Either way it proves Faux is at best incompetent and untrustworthy, at worst malicious liars with an agenda.

When MSNBC et al engage in the blatant propaganda masquerading as news will I have ire for them, until then its just Faux News pulling this crap on this scale.

You mean the reporting of news antics like Olberman (fired) and Maddow...Chris Matthews of NBC, etc, etc, etc...

How many places will you find the Gun Runner issue reported on...great example right there...no where on the MSNBC page but I'm sure I'll find a buried reference somewhere...nope I browsed their politics page and the DOJ page... no where in sight...

What I do find in a quick comparison of the Fox and MSNBC front page is this---

Fox - little from the left, little from the right, and regular news applicable to everyone...Gun Runner not a top story but on page 1...I see maybe one little article that could be construed as left bashing...

MSNBC - bashing of the right, big focus on liberal politics, and regular news applicable to everyone...no gun runner to be found anywhere though I'm sure a search would fine something...not fair and balanced because if you have to search for it then most likely you wont see it...also nothing derogatory about the anointed one or his administration

Conclusion - MSNBC has a strong tendency to put all the polish on the left, focus on negative stories concerning the right, ans above all post nothing that can be construed derogatory even remotely about the leftist administration

In 2Q Ratings, Fox News Extends Winning Streak As MSNBC Returns To Second Place Over CNN
ratingsby Mark Joyella | 9:56 am, June 29th, 2011
19 comments MSNBC returned to its perch in second place behind Fox News for the second quarter of 2011, beating CNN among the key group of viewers 25-54 in prime time. MSNBC averaged 273,000 viewers 25-54 in prime, compared to CNN’s 234,000. Fox News easily held on to its ranking as the number one network in cable news in the period, with 413,000 viewers 25-54 in prime. Fox’s win was made easy by having all of the top five cable news programs (viewers 25-54): O’Reilly Factor (636,000 viewers), Hannity (501,000), Glenn Beck (413,000), On the Record (398,000) and the O’Reilly repeat at 11 p.m. (384,000).

Overall, Fox News has had 38 consecutive quarterly wins in terms of total viewers, and was strong enough to rank fourth among all cable channels. MSNBC, by comparison, ranked 26th and CNN placed 28th.

All four top cable news networks had something to celebrate during the second quarter of the 2011 ratings season. Fox News could toast its usual dominance of the ratings, with the top 12 programs in cable news airing on its network as they always do

That many viewers has to mean they are doing something right

Great post Vern...Fox has and does by far lead the ratings...no wonder with some of the drivel we see on the other channels...and so sorry to Beck go especially when his content is spot on every time...O'Reilly has noticeably moved left and Hannity is far uber right...I do not support either of their shows...

yeap O'Reilly is really begaing to get on my nerves with some of his constant drivel, and Hannity has this holier than thou in his morality. I only started to listen to Beck when he started to put the pieces together on Skoras and where the money was coming from. I do like the News portion with Gretta and Brett but that is about all.

Olbermann was fired for violating an internal donations policy; not related to journalistic dishonesty. I am unaware of the other two engaging in open lies, and if they do, screw 'em.
How many places will you find the Gun Runner issue reported on...great example right there...no where on the MSNBC page but I'm sure I'll find a buried reference somewhere...nope I browsed their politics page and the DOJ page... no where in sight...
Broadcast news is (thankfully) dying, but if the Daily Show covered it....well, it doesn't get more Left than that.

Fox - little from the left, little from the right, and regular news applicable to everyone...Gun Runner not a top story but on page 1...I see maybe one little article that could be construed as left bashing...
We must see completely different things. I see nothing but the Right from Faux.

I want to point out this is fine by me, its the factual lies Faux frequently commits that irks me, not their slant.
So what? I dont care about their slant, MSNBC simply has more integrity and ranks it higher in my book based on hat.
Conclusion - MSNBC has a strong tendency to put all the polish on the left, focus on negative stories concerning the right, ans above all post nothing that can be construed derogatory even remotely about the leftist administration
Hey, watch this:

Conclusion - Fox has a strong tendency to put all the polish on the right, focus on negative stories concerning the left, ans above all post nothing that can be construed positive even remotely about the leftist administration.

That was easy.

Anywhoo, this thread has certainly been all over the place hasn't it? :friends:

In all honesty and with great sincerity...if you truly believe that MSNBC has integrity then I feel very sorry for you. With young people like you carrying the beliefs that you do I can only say that our only hope as a nation is God the Father and a quick return of His Son Jesus...

Compared to Faux MSNBC has integrity to spare.

I would point out few if any people my age watch TV news anyway, we get news from the Internet, myself included. Much like carrying cash its just obsolete for people under 30.

Obsolete? I hope folks like you keep pushing your social values...abortion = fewer liberals, euthanasia = fewer liberals, pro homo and the associated aids = fewer liberals....give it a few generations and your kind will indeed be obsolete and as a bonus earn yourselves a permanent footnote in the pages of history...

Ah, but America has unrestricted immigration (courtesy of capitalist free-markeeters and Marxist social engineers) to more than make up the loss-and incidentally prey upon you old gringos like wolves cut loose on some old sheep. :packin:

And what does the fact young people don't watch idiotic outdated TV news have to with abortion etc? God damn this thread needs to die lol.

Leave the thread be...its too much fun...

NEW YORK (AP) — The FBI has opened an investigation into allegations that media mogul Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. sought to hack into the phones of Sept. 11 victims, a law enforcement official said Thursday.

The decision to investigate was made after U.S. Rep. Peter King, a Republican, wrote FBI Director Robert Mueller demanding an investigation, said the official, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak publicly. The FBI had received letters from King and other members of Congress.
At this stage its just an opening investigation....but I have a hunch how this will turn out. Good thing Faux has no integrity, or it would be losing some soon.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama's healthcare law suffered a setback Friday when a U.S. appeals court ruled that it was unconstitutional to require all Americans to buy insurance or face a penalty.

The Appeals Court for the 11th Circuit, based in Atlanta, found that Congress exceeded its authority by requiring Americans to buy coverage, but also reversed a lower court decision that threw out the entire healthcare law.

The last sentence (emphasis mine) is the most interesting part.

The 6th Circuit appeals court found the mandate Constitutional. Cant wait until this winds up on SCOTUS' docket.

Fail. They found the mandate unconstitutional but let the remainder of the law stand...

True, the real horror of the law is removing lifetime spending caps and banning excluding children from being denied coverage for pre-existing conditions.

I still see no problem with the mandate, and am still amused at the hostility it has received. It was received warmly by conservatives when it was a Republican idea. The mandate is a wonderful theoretical approach to personal responsibility.

I'm tired of having to subsidize losers that cant pay for their care, wish there was no tax subsidies though, since I'm just now subsidizing them in a different way.

A mandate without subsidized policies would be best for the taxpayer AND the health care system. Maybe one day!

I agree we need to find a sensible way to take care of our citizens but a federal mandate to buy anything is heinous and unamerican. There is a better way. Just a matter of getting DC going in the right direction.

Think of it this way K...if the feds can mandate that we buy health insurance what might be next...that we can only buy a certain type of automobile...and on the other hand what might they forbid us to buy...guns, ammo, books criticizing obama...its a slippery slope...

For the record, I am opposed to any form of government requiring me to spend my money on anything. ( paying a tax, of course, is the exception... but, even there, I think that they go overboard.) I was opposed to government healthcare when it was a Republican idea, and I am still opposed to it.

One of the reasons that healthcare is so expensive is that hospitals are required to treat everybody, whether they can pay for it or not. So, now we have people heading to the ER over common colds, people hopping borders to visit our hospitals, and other various instances of people abusing that particular requirement.

Obamacare should be scrapped, as should the requirement for hospitals to accept every patient who enters the door.

Our right to life does not include a right to be kept alive by others.
