I have heard Democrats spewing about how they should get the police and military to go door to door and confiscate guns. The Dems are sounding a lot like another left wing political party from our past, the Nazi party.A 22-year-old woman in Arizona, Caitie Parker, claimed on her Twitter feed that she went to high school and college with the gunman, and was in a band with him. She described his politics in the past as "left wing, quite liberal, & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy." She also described him as having a lot of friends "until he got alcohol poisoning in '06" and dropped out of school. "Mainly loner very philosophical."

Re: Congresswoman shot in AZ
I expect the left will exploit this womans misery the way they always do. What gets me is the talk about "toning down the rhetoric" Good Morning America, the Today show etc......every reporter, every other phrase has been exactly that, and everyone of these mindnumb idiots are also leaving out the fact that this "troubled" shooter has been descibed as a Liberal, Left wing person. I know alot of people don't like Glenn Beck, and thats fair enough, he is kind of a drama queen at times, however, he warned months ago that this type of attack might come (an attack against the left BY the ULTRA LEFT) in order to ingnite things here as we have seen in other cultures around the World. ...marked8 wrote:This excerpt about the gunman was posted yesterday evening:

How perfect. Today I received an email from the Brady bunch (I joined for intel). It was that twunt Sarah Brady talking about how her husband was shot by some anus so we created a law to restrict the gun rights of non-criminals who didn't have anything to do with the shooting. YAY! We're so pro-active. Compleat with pics of her husband in a wheelchair, Billary Clintoon (both sexes worth) and some other libtards at the bill signing.
A harbinger of things to come? I don't think so, but it is entirely possible. I would recommend you secure some G18 30rd mags if you were at least considering the purchase previously.
You two twits (GS78 and Mindflayer) are compleatly salivating on command to the liberal media's attempt to associate the event with Sarah Palin. There is more distance from the two items than Kevin Bacon is from a local summer stock play. Why don't you take some time to collect your thoughts lest you finalize my opinion of you two as anti-social rejects.
You are aware of the Daily KOS article that used the very same terminology in targeting the right as well as CBS's (I believe) use of a picture of GWB with the subtitle 'SNIPERS WANTED."??? You guys are sad clowns.
A liberal (insane or not, and that is already a grey area me thinks) shoots a liberal and the solution is to take guns from conservatives? Let them try that crap. Letting a liberal speak their mind is vastly more effective at exposing them than Glenn Beck or Rush is when they explain things (you both probably agree with alienating them also, most likely).

I am not a psychologist (and probably even spelled it wrong). However, after reading everything I could about and by this guy, it appears that she was simply the first and closest "Government representative" that he could get to. I doubt seriously if there was anything more than a hatred for The Government that motivated him. 'Pub or Dem he would have done the same.
Let's hope he is seen for the rabid dog he is and gets put down quickly.

Really, ad hominem attacks? I suspect that's because you lack the intellectual fortitude to read and understand what I said. It doesn't matter if the shooter was involved with Palin's political group or not. The fact is that it provides ammunition for the antis to point and blame, and anyone with a modicum of reality-based maturity knows that people with large budgets will spin it they way they want. So take a deep breath, grow up, and maybe you'll come to realize that part of being an adult is understanding there is a bigger picture here.
Oh, and "liberal media"? Please. I read more news and op eds daily than you probably read in a year, from all sides. Again, that whole big picture thing. Seriously, Mike, grow up and learn to think.

Just saw the sheriff on the news. As it sounded to me he blamed talk radio. Saying "free speech is free speech, but I think we need to take a look at this".

Re: Congresswoman shot in AZ
I think the sheriff was talking about media in general (radio, TV, internet). That the media has people so incensed about political issues that it drives people to do things like this. I think that the media has something to do with it in the sense that without them, none of us would know what's going on, however, I think it's a stretch to try to blame it on anything more than a deranged lunatic.

Is a study on assassins and attempted assassins of US targets since 1950. From all the descriptions I have seen so far this guy definitely fits the typical profile.
One of the key points is that all most all the assassins are mentally disturbed individuals but very few are clinically insane.

Re: Congresswoman shot in AZ
GS78, are you saying that Palin is a failure because she put put out an image of a gun site (sight - sic) AFTER this congressperson was shot?
Do you not realize that this image is from before the 2010 elections and not created in the aftermath of this psycho/liberal's attack?
I don't know what to say, man. I do apologize for name calling, before.
I am sickitated by this entire event. That it is potentially a seed for reducing the freedoms of law abiding Americans, especially in a time of potential unrest is more than I can tolerate!
Twunt is a term of my own creation. It is a mashup of my two favorite feminine epithets, yet it doesn't exist.

The rash of BS legislation that will come out of this will show just how pathetic some in government office are. The stuff that's going to be offered up will be a sickening testimonial to just how far these jackasses think they can go if they get a little sympathy behind it...

I lived in AZ for 17 years and the statement about AZ is relatively correct. I lived in Sierra Vista and Tucson. There are many little artsy towns out there too and full of liberals. Tucson also has its share as does Phoenix.GS78 wrote:How long did you live in Arizona to formulate this opinion? and what area did you live in?gunderwood wrote:Remember AZ is a lot like VA in that we have a rural/very gun friendly population and then large city centers full of people who would never own a gun.Jakeiscrazy wrote:Just saw the sheriff on the news. Re: Congresswoman shot in AZ
I think that was his point, the fact its from before the shooting means it will be used for propaganda against Palin and gun owners too. He never said it DID cause this, just it may appear to have been a factor to some people, and for that it is going to be a problem for Palin.Tweaker wrote:GS78, are you saying that Palin is a failure because she put put out an image of a gun site (sight - sic) AFTER this congressperson was shot?

"Has been" is the factor in that statement. If he said "was", that would reflect another intent entirely.
I am a firm, firm believer in the individual right to bear arms. My belief is that it is a control against tyranny of crime and State. I believe that right is sacrosanct.
My concern - as I stated before - is that idiotic map, the idiotic statements, the over-the-top imagery, will be used against gun owners. Mark my words - we will see a tremendous backlash as politicians scramble to use this incident. Our Freedom of Speech and Freedom to Bear Arms will be under attack. It does not matter if the guy was insane, or a liberal or conservative. The facts will be distorted to fulfill an anti-gun agenda.
