Bill give me a holler tomorrow and I'll come get the quad out of the woods for you. Don't worry about my back, all I need is a piece of rope and your tractor to flip it back over. Forget the tractor, I'll use my truck.
Thank's for the offer Henry but it aint where you can get to it with either one of those. I might call y'all in a few week's and go over there with you and Sharon and roll it back over and let you drive it out.
Thank's Bill

Why can't I have the brass balls, a crazy sense of humor, and a love of fine imported artisinal foods?
Oh,you can, you can! It's just the thought of you bringin' that stuff down there, where everyone's packin :packin: , reminded me of that old Pace Picante Sauce commercial.

"New York City?! - Get a rope!"

So, do artisinal foods have artisinic in them!

Sounds like a lot of fun. I'll have to see what's going on that weekend once it gets near but it might be worth the drive down. Hell I've driven farther to shoot before.

Heh, I remember that one! Ironically Pace salsa sucks beyond belief too.
So, do artisinal foods have artisinic in them!
Its supposed to mean hand-made, but I think its another label designed to jack up the price 20% or so. Like "local" or "fair trade" or "organic". If you ever see "organic local fair trade artisinal" you know its gonna be expensive.

Besides man, even armed people appreciate a good imported British coastal cheddar; that stuff is good. I could also bring a few Dogfish head IPA's, or some Spanish pickled peppers (guandillo) that are good eating too.

Expand your culinary horizons and you'll be glad ya did. Its a very tasty world out there.

Keysville? Never been there that I remember. But I reckon if the map software on my Blackberry is accurate, it's 286 miles from where I lay my head. But I'm liable to load up and roll anyway. Tain't but 77 miles from the wife's sister's place in Bedford. So I feel a wave of spousal devotion and solicitude coming on that's going to motivate me to take her to see her big sis and let them spend a day together. See what a nice feller I can be when there's a little something on it for me?

Tell me a little more about this shindig............. What must I bring besides guns and ammo? popup tent? barbecue pit? corn-on-the-cob-steamer? smoked hog? white likker? Is there a knife fight scheduled? Is plain old everyday bibs OK, or are ya'll going formal so I'll have to rent me some white painter's bibs? (Sorry, but that nonsense about buying a card to ID myself as a redneck has irritated the reddest part of my neck. And us Southwest Virginia Hillbillies INVENTED redneckness, bygosh!)

On a more serious note, down at my personal skunkworks I have a CNC cutting table and it occurs to me that can cut sheet metal target silhouettes for those that want them. Might even contribute a few to the cause, including material.

Don't want to usurp Bill here, but last year, there were a couple of folks who tented overnight. There's no knife fight scheduled, but you can head that up if you want :hysterical: I think the plain bibs will be fine - we're a pretty informal bunch, but I'll defer to the groupd whether they want white bibs instead. You can bring some pork or something to throw on the grill. I'm sure there will be plenty of help eating it! White likker sounds nice for a sip or two, but not while handling firearms...maybe later in the evening after tents are pitched. :)

Here are some pictures from the last Shoot and Greet at Bill's. http://vgof.org/photogallery.php?album_id=2

We had about 30 people at the last one. Seems like there might be a few more this year if the response in this thread is any indication.

Ya'll DO unnerstand that I'm joshin' ya just a little, don'tcha?

I was just piling on a little on the redneck thing. I was born a redneck, but my wife has spent the last 40 years struggling to "git me above my raisin'", and she's done a fair job of it - - when I need to act right and particularly when she's lookin'. But she does actually have me to where you can dress me up and take me somewhere and I'll stay out of trouble.

I ain't looking to camp out on Bill - but I did think a little 10x10 popup shade might come in handy.

I ain't never been in a knife fight (and if'n I did, I'd be sure and bring a gun).
:tommygun:

I got bibs, but only wear them in the shop and fishin'.

And I don't know anything about that dirty old moonshine 'cept what I've read in books. But Bill don't live so far from Franklin County that he must not at least have heard tell of it.

You'll want to bring a chair of some sort, and we can always use another folding table for either food or out behind the firing line.

As we get closer to the event date, there will be a food & drink thread as well.

Yes, We Can!!

(sorry, couldn't resist.... :hysterical: )

And I am definitely looking forward to some more of that "possum." Told my Dad last night about that, and if we do get lucky and get a deer, I'm going to send him some venison chops. He mentioned it's been years since he's had any, so hopefully luck will come our way.
