Earmarks although said to not amount to much need to go away but the old line Republicans and Democrats are fighting that tooth and nail ,

The constitution provides for teh congress to use the earmark procedure to attach spending to bills. If that is taken away from them, it goes to the President to do this at his whim. THAT IS NOT A BETTER SOLUTION! This is according to Sen. Inhofe - OK

True, i will admit I forgot about the Mexican situation, that his administration would use their troubles against US gun owners is deplorable. How is it our fault they buy/steal US guns to kill each other with?

Why in the world would some of the richest people on the planet (drug lords) send Pedro north to buy SEMI-auto rifles when all they have to do is pick up their cell phone and ask Achmed (the illegal arms dealer) to deliver several cases of military grade weapons, ammo, grenades, and rocket launchers.

Granted, A FEW of those guns might come from the US but I'm betting on my "theory." These people are not stupid and they do not skimp on security...

Exactly. The fringe of a cartel probably buys lots of pistols in the US, but all you have to do is look at the pictures when they really raid a plant/warehouse. 90% of the cache can't be bought easily in the US and 70-80% of it can't be bought by civilians at all (I made the percentages up based on my own observation of such photos).

Yeah, but people are always attaching themselves to someone or thing and get over it eventually... The hula hoop,Pet Rock, Backstreet boys, "have a nice day" ,, all of these and countless others have hit the trashcan of life and so will Obammy as soon as the loafers find another False God that they think will reward their uselessness better than the current phony can. The earmark issue will take some more research but as of now Inhofe and old guard Republican farts like Mitch McConnell are the ones opposing the stopping of them... The other half( DeMint and co.) see it as a good thing to wean Congress off the public teat of cash flow they think is a never ending Fountain of Freebies...Time will tell as thing drags on,,,,
