Wow five days and you know all about us huh? Well I have only been around for about a year and I have only seen the word homeboy on one thread which was the homeboy sights, a spoof of all the rap/gangster movies where people shoot their guns sideways. Calling someone a thug isn't racist you politically correct douchebag. A thug is just a criminal no different from using the term scumbag. You are looking for racism and prejudice in the wrong place. My wife who is asian, was welcomed completely by everybody at the shoot and greet we had in Culpeper. No funny looks, no comments, just warm friendly people. Are we mostly conservative, sure especially when it comes to our second amendment rights. As far as your comment about us being a bunch of internet bad asses and most of us crapping our pants if we saw you, don't flatter yourself cowboy. There are a lot of prior service, ex police and some genuine lean, mean killin machine grunts that lurk around here. I don't know why I wasted so much of my time on responding to your taunt, I guess people like you just fascinate me. It must suck going through life with such a chip on your shoulder. By the way Ronald Reagan ended the cold war and in general he rocked. Clinton and Obama suck!!

There are also a lot of people who just don't feel like being policy whipping boys and, like our founders, are getting closer every day to feeling like we've got nothing left to lose.

BTW, cheap shot in the other thread. Especially cheap by locking it to prevent me from burying your ass again.

There were no cops in the days of the founding fathers. You know what you would have been in those days?

Unemployed. :hysterical:

Nobody's asking for your "protection", Jack. That's why I carry a firearm. We don't want nor NEED your brand of protection. You protect yourselves and your little pals.

Sadly, on the 5th my band has a gig and on the 6th I will be in Carolina with my wife's family. I hope that you have a good time, otherwise I'd have no compunction about driving all the way to BFE to prove you, yet again, dead wrong.

I've never claimed to be a bad ass. You do, however, know nothing of what you're talking about. You are the a-typical ex-cop tough guy with the bad attitude and the "I was a cop once, so I'm special, more special than the likes of you" attitude.

Don't do me any favors. You're a moderator here and you've regressed to name-calling and an internet version of the intimidation tactics you and your jackboot buddies practice on civilians every single day. I guess it's something you just don't outgrow, is it? Does it make you feel cool to essentially threaten me on a message board?

Every post you make like that just further proves my point.

I believe that you have jumped to hasty conclusions and made some generalizations about all here...and none too kind of generalizations as well...("geesh there are so many lame ignorant people on here") all based on trolling for a while and then a couple of back and forth replies on a posting forum..i call "not fair" on you...

As has been accurately pointed out, you were aware of the tempo and theme of the place BEFORE you joined, and we welcomed you, as we do for ALL...and your opposing ideas and your ability to express them...but to call people names and tell us how narrow our view and then expressing apparent glee at creating frustration in others, all the while saying " I didn't post this to have a war of words with anyone", was this really meant as a rhetorical statement that you really expected everyone here to just read, shrug, and move on with out comment...and your titled it "MUST READ"??? Reallllllly ?!!??

Your amateur attempt at misdirection is just that, amateur...

and then you go on to name those that you feel are the "real" types of generalized titles that you take great issue with, unless, OF COURSE, you are the one doing the name calling...( You want to see a real thug go see George Bush and Dick Cheney...) but that is OK...???
and I have no issues with you calling out Bush and Cheney, but your calling out people for calling people out and you are doing it in the same paragraph... Hate rednecks do you, Country Music, Confederate flags ???? Why??? Well then doesn;t that make you the same as me? or are you a bit more equal??? perhaps a heightened sense of self awareness ? I am not trying to be belittling, I am asking you to consider that what you have written and reconcile with your intent, and i find it a bit offbase...

Your showing your age, or lack of it... and you are telling US to "get over yourselves"... where I come from we call this "Hypocritical" ... what do you call it?
and somehow, as many of the people I meet today, it all about you, yours, and what you get out of it...you then state "I'm saying is it would be nice to come on this site and be able to enjoy it to its fullest extent without thinking "geesh there are so many lame ignorant people on here".... your here, do you include yourself in the "so many..."??? I mean GEESH!...would it be nice?? if sterile is nice, if unanimous agreement is nice, if vanilla, all the time, is nice...for me, it is not why i am here...

if this is what you seek, pure harmony in ideal and form, then you are in the wrong the place...we are a group of individuals, all who speak for themselves...this being the idea of a (ideal) forum...do we have to have lock step agreement, "no"...do we have to have some level of civility between the participants.."its a must"..no matter how much we feel opposed,...

If you are trying to say that we are opinionated, can succinctly verbalize our issues and make cogent remarks as to why we feel the ways we do about certain aspects of our American society, then I can only agree with you... and to your statement " I mean this is 2010 and you have people on here talking like we're back in the 50's and 60's" for someone that was probably not alive, how the hells would you know what the 50's and the 60's was all about or what was being talked about...much like the rest of your generation, you speak of that which you do not understand...just old enough to be "PROUD"...well good for you...and yes you get the 1st amendment too....and so do the rest of the people here...so do not think for that we are also going to forgo our rights to speak out...disagree, argue among ourselves, dicker, call each other out and dissect almost any topic that is thrown out for discussion, as that is what this place is...

Not that I expect you too, but you should come to the meet and greet, and I believe that you will be amazed at the warmth, education, firearm knowledge, and heartfelt comradery that you will experience in this group, with no predisposition to appearance or gender, nationality, or any other differentiator, WHY IS THAT?
Its all in the name.... V.G.O.F....

When I was growing up, it was the people I fought with that became my best friends...as we learned to respect each other for standing up for themselves...
Alas, many things have changed in the modern generation, and not all for the good...

Change comes from with-in, If you want to see change in this place, well then I guess your just gonna have to take part...
and I may get some grief for this, but, I hope you stay, and just slightly temper your approach...

Carry ON, and Do good things!

The majority of you that are on here are probably sloppy fat xxxxx that wouldn't know what to do with yourselves if this was a face to face discussion. I'd probably have most of ya'll xxxxxxx yourselves. Haha sad little minded people. I enjoyed reading all these comments my lil post stirred up. Clearly I got under some skins. :hysterical:
Hey, Marquis J. Byrd you know the other day when we met I thought you were a pretty ok kind of guy. We here on this forum are a group that love our Second Amendment right just as much as our 1st Amendment right and we make no excuses for that, We are very protective of these rights as there are so many that wish to strip both of them from us. You will find that most here are conservative in nature, and at this current point in time do not like the direction that our country is going in. If you are happy with the direction then so be it.

If you really feel that way about us on this site then maybe you might want to try elsewhere when you need help when the current administration come to take your rights away that you are currently enjoying.

Now that I am reading all the posts in reply to your Must Read I see that you have stirred things up. I am sure before you joined this forum that like the rest of us you read the comments and you knew what you were getting into when you joined.
To make an overall judgment about the folks here on this site is really in bad taste. By the way did I in some way offend you when we met during the transaction for the pistol? (Yes GS78 I did by the HiPoint it was a good deal and a good shooting pistol)

I saw that you had a 'Thin Blue Line" emblem on the back of your car is that because you are a police officer? As far as not being able to handle ourselves in a Face to Face confrontational environment in person you might be surprised. If I was to take a poll here I would probably find that at least 90% of us have or are still serving as Law Enforcement or Military so, Please do not make generalized statement on folks that you have never met

Vern
Vern,
I actually dont have any problem with you whatsoever. This post wasn't posted talking about every single person on this site. The post was posted for those people who are the bigots and are stuck in their ways about their perception of African American people. When I first joined the site I didn't see much ignorance. As I started reading my post and looking at older ones it seemed like some were just talking about "black" people out of nowhere. One min they're talking about a gun then someone comes in and says some nonsense and I'm reading thinking "what does that have to do with this post" then that becomes the topic of discussion. Like I said in my post I actually really do like this site and despite this posting I'm still going to visit the site. Again I have nothing against you unless you're one who feels this unfortunate ignorant hatred for African Americans. Now maybe some may have misunderstood what I may have been trying to say.

MJB927,

You should try a new ointment that's out now. It's called "Liberalbegone". Rub it on your eyes for twenty minutes three times a day for eight weeks. By then, you should be able to read clearly again without seeing racism in everything. It's worth a try!

Unfortunately I see it how it is... Im not one to think "Oh the world is out to get me". Nor do a try to make a problem out of nothing. I went to school out in Manassas, as I'm sure you know there are a lot of rednecks out there. I was very cool and comfortable with the majority of them who didn't have a problem with me. Your race or background or political reviews dont mean anything to me. Again in this case I see it exactly how it is. Anyone who takes offense or has a problem to the original post, the post my apply to them. Anyone who wasn't any like my post said wouldnt have any problem with it. So... if the shoe fits wear it. I see over 300 views on this posting and only what 50 or so postings. That means for those who didnt feel this applied to them didnt feel a need to respond and defend theirselves.

Im from New York City and went to high school in Manassas, thats a very big difference and there were quite a few "rednecks". You being raised there you can't say there wasnt. Im not saying thats a problem because like I said I had no problems with anyone. Except those who just didn't want us their. When I started going to school out there they had just changed the boundary lines so all of us who lived in my neighborhood in woodbridge went to Osbourn Park. Not everyone like that idea and my freshman year there was a lot of crap. "Niggers go away"was written on bathroom walls a few times. As for the term redneck being racist I only say that because thats what they called themselves. Never heard the term redneck until I moved to VA and went to school in Manassas.

There are a few that have "redneck symptoms", not many. My guess is you've never really been around a true "redneck".

My point isnt that it was said the point of that was there were some rednecks who were alright and there were others who wasnt. Going back to what I said earlier that I dont have a problem rednecks just those who had a problem with me. Read everything thoroughly before you respond to it. Thats exactly why this post turned out the way it did now because people read what they want to read without actually reading it. Anyone who truly read my first post would've understood I wasnt attacking everyone on here only those who fit what I was saying. So if you were one who fits the "shoe" of course you're going to respond in a negative matter.
