I really hate arguments like this because since when have anything people have done be considered normal or natural? Fact is people are about as unnatural a creature as you can get. We make things not found in nature, and kill in ways that should sicken everyone. Hell marriage itself is a human concept and thus not normal by nature's standards. Personally I feel the whole of humanity is completely deranged, I mean the majority of people even believe in an invisible man in the sky (myself included). Last I checked that was actually a sign of a mental illness.

So excuse me if I don't buy the normal vs not normal debate because there is none!

I realize this is a personal issue for you. However, when 98% of our population doesn't identify as gay or transgender, I think it's a fair assumption that not being gay or transgender IS "normal", at least for the sake of my argument.

I think you missed the point. Defining normalcy is not important (and may not even be possible). One could argue that being left handed is not normal - but it is accepted.
