Join the Tea Party and endorse the amendment to strengthen the Constitution if you wanna do some good.

We agree on many things. I don't intend to verbally chase you around the back yard like a child chasing a squirrel with a tennis racket.

I have many reasons for my move. I have been here 30 years working for reason and sanity with my ACTIONS. I still stand shoulder to shoulder with Va. patriots. Be well and prosper.

Dude, seriously? I'm not sure why you're projecting onto us/me your feelings of unrecognition for your efforts, saying what i should belong to (as if you know what i belong to) as well as ACTIONS (you have knowlege of my actions?).

I'm equally disinterested in chasing a squirrel, which is why i am pointing out the trolling with the "y'all stink, Texas rah", paternalism and whatnot are getting kinda tiresome to me.

I know you're capable of adding valuable comments because I have enjoyed the thoughtful commentary in the past. Maybe I'm disappointed because I remember that and find this kind of commentary very divergent and not as constructive.

We are all going to have to fight no matter where we are. If rather fish is more comfortable hunkering down to duke it out in TX then God Bless keep the faith my friend. I think I'll have to stick it out here a little while longer.

Though we may all end up in TX before this is done.

DUDE!

Change the subject and attack again!

Hint: I don't CARE what orginizations you work for or belong to but if you pretend to be a non-liberal you might want to support the Tea Party, and the convention of States...http://vagunforum.net/general-discussio ... 20303.html. My comments were more aimed at kreutz who left NY and wouldn't ever move back.
As I stated before, I have many many relatives in Texas and would like to get to know them all better outside of the clouds of youth. I've met few native Texans who don't love the State. Try understanding that a native Texan saying they love a State other than Texas is the highest complement possable...Thats how I feel about Va. and why I've spent 30 years here! The outlook with regards to taxes and guns is not something I care to face in retirement and is another reason to move back. Understand???

YALL DON'T STINK! unless your progressives......

Sheeesh... thin skinned is a liberal trait too you know.

Hat tip to mamabear....

If you make the jump, best of luck. Either way I'll still be on the forum and hope that your efforts return Virginia to the cornerstone of freedom. Y'all were the first State to petition for a convention of States.......

Haven't changed any subject and I'm not attacking - The overall message I've been pretty consistent with is: I'm getting tired of the "woe is me", "no one appreciates what i do", "y'all are liberals", "i'm going back to Texas" stuff. I've been adding to that message.

Your dissatisfaction with VA is understood. You're moving back to Texas to "fight there", which isn't because you're running away, it's for family - got it. Your overall objection with how the elections went is duly noted. I don't care that you're a Native Texan (tm). It's immaterial to me that whoever has a different opinion than you is "liberal" or somehow wrong and an enemy. Whatever...

I'm not convinced things are actually better there nor will be any long term/multi-generational holdout. Your opinion differs - that's fine. I have no expectation that you agree with me; it doesn't matter if you do or not.

Now, I'm kinda getting worn with your ad-hominem comments when clearly you're missing the overall message which is: You're coming across as whining; it gets tiresome to me.

Now, have your little last word... :friends:

Texas has been dealing with Mexico for a long long time. I have no doubt that unhindered by Obummer it could do so now. There is no mentality by good people there to surrender as you see above. That's one reason I made that choice. No offense intended.

Give up and wait like sheeple if you wish. I won't. If it's not your fight do a little introspection while looking at your children and grand children and think how you'll explain to them how liberty was lost in your generation.

Right on mamabear!
"Demographics is destiny."-Arthur Kemp

Texas is ground zero for La Reconquista. You'd better hope your grandchildren aren't put to the machete. The landed gringos will not be treated well.

Kruetz. I say this with all love. You simply do not have a concept of just how salty and tough even the liberal texans are. Unless they are recent tender feet from California they all have many guns, they all shoot straight, 75% are bilingual Spanish so there is not a language barrier.

There is no other place like it. They are texans first and anything else comes after that.

The Mexican drug lords are as nasty as can be.... Texas is still Texas. If I were to move there I would feel much more secure in my children's liberty than I do with Washington so close by.

I can shoot a drug lord come to burn my house.... It becomes much harder to fight an entrenched Marxist state.

Texas is at the top of my list of where to go if this fight becomes unwinnable and we become obsolete to DC like all of NY is to the city.

edited to add.....Bringing a machete to conquer Texas is bringing the proverbial knife (albeit a large one) to a gun fight.

Time changes all things. I think in 15+ years when West Texas and South Texas go full Mexicano there will be serious trouble for its gringo population.

Always the panhandle and the hill country I guess, dunno where ratherfish plans on settling though. Texarkana is populated by prehistoric mosquitos to the best of my recollections, unsure if its habitable by humans.

I wouldn't move to TX if you paid me though, the risk is too great of being the lone white rice in a sea of brown rice, and man is that rice angry.

Wyoming,Montana or the Dakotas would be a much more demographically sound choice for a long term redoubt.

Just cause a person is brown in TX does not mean they are hostile. A good 1/2 of my family there is a nice shade of caramel, they are as conservative as can be. The border towns might be problematic, but anywhere North and east if 35 and 10 should be good.

Yet. Throw in a few generations of shoddy Educational Department hate America education and that will change. I know alot of the colleges are still big on leftist Chicano agitation in the southwest.

I'm thinking 15+ years down the road not today. I simply don't believe large sections of Texas will be necessarily safe for whites then if the saber rattling from groups like MEChA will pan out.

There are parts of Va that are not safe for people who are melinin challenged. In 10-15 years I am not sure it will be safe for white people here, Certainly not in the cities. At least in TX I think they will be more likely to tell the gun grabbers to take a hike.

Criminals are more easily handled than a tyrannical govt. We will likely be dealing with both here in VA. That should be interesting. But I will stay here as long as I can, until it is for certain the fight is lost.

No argument there.

At least in TX I think they will be more likely to tell the gun grabbers to take a hike.
Those blue counties around the border and in the cities of TX get votes in the state government too. TX is not immune to it and it's newest (and fastest growing) uh "citizens" love them some big government.

Texas will show the identical NOVA/ rest of VA divide here in a generation or two.

I'm not crapping on TX but I really feel the need to dispute it will be this eternal paradise a certain individual keeps going on about...it isn't now and it is not much safer than VA in the long term for much of the same reasons.

But what happens when the criminals are the government?

Sounds like another damn yankee new to Southern civilization blowing raspberry scented farts in the direction of a State he has no way of identifying with.

He manufactured my supposed utopian prose and is clueless as to what being proud of an identity bestowed on him by his ancestors. It's going to get harder all over before it's all over. I don't tolerate my own raspberry scented farts boy, much less yours. :hysterical:

Stop whining, keep your powder dry, and remember the Alamo!

Get rid of the NY accent and enjoy Southern hospitality.
Va. and Texas are God's country. You're welcome to enjoy them. It's your duty to preserve them if you intend to call them home!

I spent my entire tour in the Army outside of basic training in TX and got off post as much as possible. So I can kinda identify with it capisce? Been to the Alamo too.

I LIKED Texas, I liked the people too. VERY much a culture shock but a fun one. But I can read maps and census data, and the Lone Star state is going to have real problems in the not too distant future.

As for Gods country, gotta say my hiking trips in Texas were very pleasurable, great sunsets there.

You have visited the Alamo, but my relatives died there. They gave their lives so that their families could live free. I know the name of my ancestor who gave his life, Daniel Cloud, my grandmothers uncle. I am a fifth generation Texan. One does not give that up easily.

If all goes south Texas will be one of the last places to fall.

As for demography and destiny. A lot can happen in a generation.
