Wonder if the moron in the WH is gonna send Assad a party invitation? He's all but named the time and place. Military assets are being moved out of harms way, into urban areas that we won't hit. The British aren't coming (first wise choice they've made in a while), and all French rifles have now been dropped twice, and still never fired.

Can't even imagine how we are perceived on the international stage. But wait! Ban Ki Moon is begging poop-fer-brains not to bomb Syria yet. So, with at least one person in the world paying attention to what bucket-head is saying, I guess that pumps up his ego enough for him to pretend to be serious.

I am ashamed to be associated with that useless POS. He needs to be impeached and removed from office, but that won't happen. The Constitution makes it difficult to impeach, as it should, so we have to endure this foolishness and work to change the direction we are going.

I can't get into this here without utterly derailing the thread, but a nod towards German (and an equal appreciation of French) administrative norms an acolyte does not make.

Had Wilson been a Teutonophile instead of a WASP surrounded by other rabid Anglophiles the outcome of WW1 would have been very different; and likely with a happier ending.

Man, Obama sure deserved that peace prize. Guy is getting us involved in more poop than any President.

When the hell will these countries ever learn to fight their own battles if we're always the ones doing it for them.

Swampman is exactly right....We did the same thing in Iraq...No wonder we never found WMD , we gave them enough time to remove or hide them in another country...Then told them exactly what our plan of attack was. What ever happened to the element of SURPRISE ? We should have given them 20 minutes and then NUKED THEM . Made an example out of them and ask WHO wants the next one ! By now Baghdad ...Which could be Called "BUSH CITY" could be the Garden Stop of the Country. Could be a great place for us Americans to Vacation !

Not to hijack the thread, but have you actually read Wilson's essay? He was a huge admirer of both Hegel and Bismarck, and took his "Progressive" view of history and the power of the state over society directly from them. (So was, and did, John Dewey, who personally planned the destruction of our education system.)

You see, I have read it, and a number of other writings by Wilson. You could even call him the first unAmerican president.

"Not to hijack the thread . . ." Too late! Why don't you start a new thread and post a list of the stuff you have read that Wilson wrote. I would be interested to read it. Also interested to hear what Kreutz has to say about it.

Look, you can try to assign whatever prerogatives you want based on an over one hundred year old essay, but I'm a simple man who tends to look at actions as more indicative of where a mans true intentions lead him, and Wilson declared war on Germany, not on behalf of it.

Were he the ardent Teutonophile you claim he was surely he would have broken the illegal and immoral starvation blockade inflicted upon Germanys women and children by the British navy? Or openly admitted siding with the British meant support for the purely undemocratic colonial system it still held by force at the time?

You can try and twist him any which way you want, but the evidence speaks for itself. Anti-German hysteria was only exacerbated by his creation of the CPI (Committee on Public Information) which took out pro-war/anti-Germans ads in magazines and such.

Obama is putting the vote to Congress, even though he claims executive action against a sovereign nation is within his powers.

So President McBombyPants has had a change of heart, of sorts. And if Congress gives him the green light that means he's no longer a warmonger, right?

I bet the members of Congress can't wait to share the blame with George W. Bush. Stay tuned for the International Amateur Hour.

Putin acts like a petulant little boy who got told by the cute little blond-haired girl to go fornicate himself. Don't know why anyone pays him any mind.

President McBombyPants ( :hysterical: ) doesn't want to be compared with Bush so he is making a minimal effort to get Congress involved. He'll fornicate this one up regardless of who he asks permission from.

"So President McBombyPants has had a change of heart, of sorts."

First off... that cracked me the hellup.

Second, NO! He hasn't what part he got HANDED to him by his PROGRESSIVE/COMMIE PARTY is why he wants to put it back on CONGRESS!

Thankfully, the same folks who protested the IRAQ/AFGHAN WAR are against THIS ONE! So he's got THAT against him...AND, he had the Republicans pulling his OWN quotes against him in 2007, and 2008, and the MAINSTREAM MEDIA IS PUBLISHING/BROADCASTING THEM!

The honeymoon is over for Barry... Youse f'cked lameduck. The only people supporting you are those to whom you've provided FREE STUFF!

All the rest? PHOOEY ON YOU!

Are you saying that Bush did not get Congressional support? If so, that is untrue. Obama has already said FY to Congress on Libya, and until yesterday, when it was obvious that 91% of the country opposed his plan, was prepared to act like the dictator he wants to be. Bush never did anything like that. He also carefully worked to include 47 countries as allies in his action in Iraq, and get UN approval, too.

OK, consider the source, by all means, but:

"Breaking news: Rebels admit gas attack result of mishandling chemical weapons"

http://www.examiner.com/article/breakin ... al-weapons

Kinda reminds me of that video of the monkey with the AK-47. Another good reason to keep our nose out of that clusterfook.

“So we’re bombing Syria because Syria is bombing Syria? And I’m the idiot?” Mrs. Palin asked on Friday. “President Obama wants America involved in Syria’s civil war pitting the antagonistic Assad regime against equally antagonistic Al Qaeda affiliated rebels. But he’s not quite sure which side is doing what, what the ultimate end game is, or even whose side we should be on.”

Syrian Hackers Hack US Marine Website

And post this (the "take a look" referenced is the one of US soldiers holding the signs up over their faces):

"This is a message written by your brothers in the Syrian Army, who have been fighting al-Qaida for the last 3 years. We understand your patriotism and love for your country so please understand our love for ours. Obama is a traitor who wants to put your lives in danger to rescue al- Qaida insurgents.

Marines, please take a look at what your comrades think about Obama's alliance with al-Qaida against Syria. Your officer in charge probably has no qualms about sending you to die against soldiers just like you, fighting a vile common enemy. The Syrian army should be your ally not your enemy.

Refuse your orders and concentrate on the real reason every soldier joins their military, to defend their homeland. You're more than welcome to fight alongside our army rather than against it.

Your brothers, the Syrian army soldiers. A message delivered by the SEA"
IMO this is the most honest assessment over this debacle; if we fight, it will be for terrorism.
