House Votes to Strip ACORN of Federal Funding
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09 ... l-funding/
foxnews.com
House Republicans succeeded Thursday in eliminating federal funding to ACORN, the community organizing group that has come under heavy fire in the wake of damaging undercover videos that purport to show advisers giving tax fraud advice to a "pimp" and "prostitute."
The House voted 345-75 to strike ACORN funding from a student aid bill with two voting present.
House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, R-Va., applauded the vote.
"ACORN has violated serious federal laws, and today, the House voted to ensure that taxpayer dollars would no longer be used to fund this corrupt organization," he said in a written statement. "All federal ties should be severed with ACORN, and the FBI should investigate its activity.
"This united Republican effort to defund ACORN is a victory for the rule of law and taxpayers across the country."
The vote was essentially symbolic because the student aid bill did not actually provide any funding to ACORN. But it does give Republicans more momentum as they continue to keep the pressure on ACORN, which is on its heels.
In a procedural tactic known as "motion to recommit," Republicans essentially forced Democrats, who control the House, to vote on an issue that may leave some of them vulnerable in next year's mid-term elections.
Republicans now have the firepower to run ads highlighting this vote, saying: "This lawmaker voted against defunding ACORN."
But at least one Democrat who voted to strip funding, Rep. Zack Space of Ohio, said he was "outraged" by a series of videos taken by two undercover filmmakers dressed up as a pimp and a prostitute in order to get advice at local ACORN establishments on how to set up their brothel to pay taxes and get grants for federal funding.
"I am outraged at the actions of ACORN's employees and believe they should be penalized to the full extent of the law," said Space. "Our government must be vigilant in ensuring that organizations that are found to act fraudulently do not receive taxpayer dollars."

Here is the vote list if anyone wants to see how their Congressman voted,,, Only Moran voted No,, Be sure to thank him accordingly if he is your Congressman,,,,and Conelly chickened out and didn;t vote at all. Looking at the list you will see some of the turn coats who voted NO are familiar names in ranks of twisted politicians,,,

I think a lot of folks were waiting for this and are gonna take their shots while they can... It needs to be stomped flat and disappear from existence ,,but only after it pays back all the taxpayer money and the correct individuals are sentenced accordingly! It's gonna be very interesting when Obama gets the Bills on his desk and either has to sign them or alienate just about the entire country by standing up for a group that abuses taxpayer funds and promotes illegal activity..Little by little the juggernaut that is Obama is being slowly unraveled ,. Gotta love it!!!

Now representative conyers is demanding that the film makers be investigated to see if they violated any laws by privately recording ACORN dim bulbs. These guys should be made into national heroes.

It's too bad Richard Nixon didn't think of this after the Watergate story broke. He could have sued both Woodward and Bernstein for their biased reporting.

Re: The ACORN doesn't fall far from the tree
The next in a long line of ACORN related BS,,Senate majority leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said he will not open any investigations into ACORN while there is still health care and climate change negotiations ongoing in the Senate,, 27 Republican Senators had asked Mr Reid to open an investigation into ACORN prior to this refusal. It is also beleived but not confirmed that he has ties to ACORN in Nevada and is trying to keep that relationship out of the public's view due to the support they have lent him in the past, I;m sure the inflated voter rolls aided him somehow... For those that are inclined to protest I will be posting a letter to our 2 Senators informing them that ACORN needs to be investigated Now!! Not after they've had time to hide everything.

More bad news for ACORN.
Bank of America Pulls Back From ACORN Work
In response to questions from The Wall Street Journal, a spokesman for the banking company said it has "suspended current commitments" to ACORN Housing, an affiliated group, and "will not enter into any further agreements with ACORN or any of its affiliates," pending assessments by the bank of the organization's operations.

Rachel Maddow of MSNBC defends ACORN. This video is both sickening and amazing. Its definitely worth the time to watch to see just what we are up against. I wonder how much they pay this cow to spout that stuff off? Remember fellow gun owners that this is the same tactic they will use against us. Best to get educated so we know how to fight it.

She is a real piece of work...I feel sorry for anyone that would lend any kind of credence to her BS,,I've seen high school kids with more professionalism than that idiot.Of course for what she makes a year she can afford to be MSNBC'S trained seal and defend ACORN cause she;ll never have to join or have anything to do with them other than her crappy news cast, If I am guessing correctly, she's MSNBC's answer to Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh,,She sucks at it , sadly some poor misguided souls will actually believe her and continue to spout the same garbage ,, But as we all know the proof has been adding up day after day that ACORN is indeed rotten. Let;s all help by giving it a little nudge to help it get rolling on down the hill to oblivion.....

Re: The ACORN doesn't fall far from the tree
Here is a letter to send to our Senators to tell them to investigate ACORN. Please feel free to use it and send as you see fit,
Dear Senator XXXXX,
I am writing today to ask you to sponsor or co sponsor a complete investigation into ACORN. Recently after a request being made by 27 of your colleagues Senator Harry Reid stated that he would start no investigation as long as health care and climate change were unsettled. This is a serious injustice to the taxpayers of this country. It’s obvious that Mr. Reid is accustomed to squandering billions in taxpayer money to promote his other political agendas first. Unfortunately for him, we as taxpayers who actually work for a living think that billions is a very large sum of money to waste on a dishonest organization parading as a community helper that operates dishonestly while peddling and buying influence at all levels of government, it is time to stand up and be counted Senator. We can no longer sit by idly while groups like ACORN are courted by politicians in Congress and the White House. This situation is unacceptable and needs to be addressed immediately.
Sincerely, XXXXXX
