Virginia Arms has ar15's at the same price point as pre panic. They will only raise prices if there distributors raise there price. Last week they had a Daniel defense and two core15's. Find a reputable dealer and you'll pay normal prices.
As far as the supply returning to normalcy sorry cant help you there don't own a crystal ball

HA! They're out already. I think the site may be getting slammed, too: Some of the ammo that they have it, but when you try to add to your cart, you get an OOS message.
Thanks for the tip, tho.

Machias, there is a caveat you're neglecting to mention regarding the PMAGs -- limit is 3, and you must also purchase $50 in additional store merchandise to be able to buy them. At some point, Quantico Tactical will go back to the deal they were offering before the Sandy Hook shooting caused all this madness, and offer the PMAGs for $11 each if you buy 5 or more. But they don't know when this will happen. They had 5 or 6 boxes of PMAGs behind the counter when I was there last Tuesday (03/12). As for their lowers, when I was in there they had RRA lowers in stock at the Quantico location, but had no ETA for their S&W M&P15 lowers that I usually buy from them.
UnderwaterMike, don't know if you're current, former, or retired military, but they offer damn good deals for those who are current or retired military, L.E., or first responder on various items. Example -- this is where I bought my M&P9c (LE version). Retails for $569 with three magazines -- they sell it for $398 and S&W has been offering a $50 rebate as well.

No service worth crowing about -- eye problems got me separated from AOCS in 1990; I got about 16 mos. in the IRR and a shiny honorable discharge from the Navy that sits in a drawer -- so I never look for veterans' discounts. Those belong to people who earned them.
Thanks for the info, though.

I just picked up a Spike's Tactical stripped lower from Sharpshooter yesterday. $115. They had six left when I left last night.

Nice! I grabbed a Palmetto lower for $119.
Is Sharpshooters physical or online store? Never heard of it.

It looks like the Assault Weapons Ban is in trouble in the Senate, I am not saying it won't slip out there yet, but it has definitely slowed down. With that, it may relieve prices on the rifles. Magazines, however, are not out of the woods yet, I wouldn't look for PMAGs to become more available or cheaper any time soon, the same goes for any other AR and AK magazines out there.

You served in the Navy? Even for a day? Trust me you earned it. Thanks for stepping up and volunteering.

They just started that, I guess the last couple of boxes before they did that sold out in a half an hour.

Sharpshooters is a physical store (and indoor range) in Lorton. There are a couple of threads here on the forum discussing them (in the gun shop/range sub-forums).

It could vary by location too, I suppose. Which QT store do you frequent, Machias? The one I was referring to is the one on MCB Quantico, in Q-Town.

FYI, I just got an in-stock notification on the DPMS stripped lower
http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/DPMS_St ... ower15.htm. Had I not already bought a PSA lower, I'd be all over this one, as I really like DPMS hardware. Shipping is free, too, so the price is pretty good.

I walked into a LGS near Fort Belvoir, and it looked like their prices weren't so inflated. They didn't have many AR's but their 2000 AK's were down to 1000. I don't know if we will ever see them get back to normal though....

If anyone's looking to build now and not concerned about beauty, Palmetto has blemished lowers in stock at
http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.ph ... eiver.html.
I have one of the regular lowers, and it's very nicely done. Not sure exactly what the cosmetic impact is, but the price is $30 less than I paid for the regular version. I may pick up one just to have a spare on hand.

And the regular (unblemished) lowers are now in stock. I got one a couple weeks ago; well worth the price, IMO.

Given the failures today, hopefully normalcy will return. I'm really hoping prices will go back to Octoberish prices.
