This AK comes with a welded muzzle nut. Must be a Cali model that was leftover from before the ban.

In the end I didn't get either, Sandy Hook happened before I could get myself one and the prices doubled. I decided to pass on it since I have nowhere feasible to shoot it anyway and would rather put the $ to other causes and expenses.

SKS is a damn fine weapon. So is the AK.

You wont go wrong either way...

The main advantage to the AK is magazines. With the SKS the best way to assure proper cycle is with the 10 round fixed mag that it comes with.

Stripper clips do work, but are cumbersome.

AK mags change easily, but not as easy as AR mags.

That being said, I traded my AR with toyz for an AK and could not be happier!!

My WASR had a barrel nut also, but the standard threads were there.

Using a cut off wheel on my grinder, I took off the single spot weld on the bottom and un-threaded the nut. Cleaned up the grind with a file, used some Cold Blue and installed a 74 type muzzle device make for the AK.

Getting ready to add a single point sling AND a Krebs safety, that should round it out to be a damn nice finished product!

The Krebs Custom safeties are the best. My only issue is that I wish they would paint them flat black instead of glossy.
