May God bless the families our fellow countrymen. May God also give us the strength to stand against this evil.

Archduke Ferdinand was treated better in death than this.
Insert pithy statement about breaking a camel's back here.

What precautions were taken before this notorious date, including extra detachments of Marines to protect the embassies and extraction protocols made ready in case things got out of control (as in Benghazi and Cairo)?
Zero and the Dancer sounded just like Hans Blix in Team America. Who knew that adjectives had such power?

I will give Prez Bush credit for his administrations handling of Libya. They wanted to drop their BS and were playing along nice, even helping us do anti-terrorist ops in North Africa.
Just another new terrorist hotspot now, and rigggggght across the Med from Europe.
Nice.

Wish I can remember the name of the book, but it was a great history on WW1 from everyone viewpoint. It said (I'll have to paraphrase) Kaiser Franz Josef really loathed Franz Ferdinands public concessions to the Slavs and made quite a few off color jokes about him at the funeral.
Then again, he was older than dirt and getting senile by then.

The US is sending 2 destroyers towards Lybia. I know the USS Cole is in the area. I hope she's one of them!

Yea this was horrible. Sean Smith was one of our guys. He got his training from our shop before being posted overseas. Everyone at work knew him.
As for the marine thing. While they are stationed at almost all embassies and consulates, they were not in Benghazi.
What's crazy about all of this was Sean was an extremely influential member of the online gaming community. He was chatting with some fellow players at the time and the last thing he said to them was "f***! Gunfire! ".
They were used to it because of his time in Iraq and laughed because he always came back fine. But ended with "this time he didn't come back".
Sean was former ground radio in the usaf and then joined the state department. He's been to every hotspot out there.

So it seems it was a planned attack and the Libyan security team was in on it. As a planned attack by agencies of the Libyan government, retaliation should be swift and send a powerful message to everyone out there! We've been struggling since the 90's with small piss ant countries showing us up while we '"play by the rules" and nobody else does. Yes we executed Bin Laden, but F'em. We need to start messing some people/countries up or forget them and support strongly the ones that are with us.
http://lonelyconservative.com/2012/09/s ... -location/
...Another indication that the security forces helped the attackers is an account of Sean Smith’s final moments written by a gamer friend of his who was online as the violence was erupting. Smith wrote “Assuming we don’t die tonight. We saw one of our ‘police’ that guard the compound taking pictures.” Can you imagine a US Marine, or any member of the US military standing around taking pictures as US soil was under attack by a violent mob?...

Our embassy in Yemen was attacked this morning.
I heard on the radio yesterday that the terrorists in the embassy attacks were chanting "Obama there are a billion more Osamas".

I do believe it is time to step up and take strong action. The consequences have to be swift and dire. No American embassy can go attacked and not have swift retaliation by our country.

Some in Egypt blame their own. "The movie is ridiculous; it's an insult to one of the world's major religions," said Belal Farouk, 28, a poet in Cairo. "But I blame the violent reaction too. The film doesn't represent the views of the American people either, just a few fanatics."
Many believe that the extremists are drowning out the voices of the majority in the region, most of whom are moderate.
"It's extremists on both sides playing with each other," Said Sadek, a professor at the American University in Cairo, said, referring to those who made the film and the hardliners who protested. "And the victims are usually the moderates and the majority of people."

Indeed. The majority is going to suffer because of the outspoken voices of the minority.

This is *exactly* what's happening to our own society. As the old saying goes "The squeaky wheel gets the grease". In our case, the squeaky wheels are those who push "gay rights", racism (such as sub-prime loans to people who can't afford them, welfare for everyone, etc), other "social justice" programs, "Global warming", etc...
Our society is turning into a bunch of mamby-pambys. Because of the voice of a few, the rest of us have to suffer.
This is why it's so important for so-called "Conservatives", who just try to live their lives and not bother anyone, to get their voice out there. Conservatives need to be heard, otherwise, the voice of the few drown us out.

I was staying semi-neutral till I got all the reports in, and read the security briefs on CIA.GOV....
But now that it's being fueled in other countries.
I have one phrase that every soldier, sailor, and marine should be saying "Some muthafrakas just need killing."
Obama, unleash the dogs of war.

In regards to the photographs, I don't believe that is him being paraded around, I think they're actually evacuating him. In the main photo, you can see that he is clearly deceased. There's no closed fists or feet in the frame, no one is posing for the camera either. The guy to the left has a very clean pair of jeans on which seems a bit out of place for rioters. The "fireman drag" style carry the man is using and the look on his face generally seems as if he is in distress, I mean you can't see it but he isn't smiling either. I believe the caption that these are the people who brought him to the hospital.

What do you think about this statement?
"It is tragic when Americans serving their country are murdered, and we both mourn their loss and honor their service.
Part of honoring that service is to ask the obvious question: What U.S. interest is being served by putting our people – and our money – in places where U.S. personnel can be killed by extremists over a video? We launched millions of dollars worth of missiles to bring down Gaddafi, and this is what we get. We hail and encourage the outbreak of an Arab Spring in Egypt, send them billions of dollars we can’t afford, — and our embassy is breached and our flag desecrated.
In Afghanistan, we continue to put our troops in harm’s way 10 years after our post-9/11 mission was complete. Why?
The airwaves are filled today with political chest-pounding and calls for decisive action. The most decisive and prudent action we can take today is to stop trying to manage governments and peoples on the other side of the globe who don’t want to be managed, get our people out of impossible situations that have no direct U.S. interest, and immediately stop sending money to regimes who clearly cannot or will not control their own countries.
Protecting America with a strong national defense and a rational foreign policy is our leaders’ most basic responsibility. But let us not confuse national security with senseless intervention where our interests are clearly not being served."

Aparently the people on here only deal in absolutes, like damn fools. You don't think a homosexual can be a moderate or conservative?! Well you're staring at one! I may be gay and push damn hard for my rights but don't think for a minute that I don't care for this country, it is my home and thus i owe it my loyalty. Even if it is full of people I can't stand.
I am also a firm believer in keeping the Fing money I make and that nothing will get you nothing. It seems the extreme right are their own worst enemy by pushing moderates away to the liberal side and putting the noose on themselves. Perhaps you should try not being bigots and mabey you may get some more votes.

I understand and even agree with the sentiment somewhat. If these people were rational and had a libertarian mindset themselves that would be the best plan of action.....I don't think they have that.
It is just as likely that if we disengaged that we the leaders in those countries would foment anger and irritation with us and there would be no counter argument to that. I don't think they want to just go on about thier.business. They want to bring jihad to the world and obedience to thier brand of Islam. So I think that if we leave them alone we will still have to engage them, just here in our streets instead of in theirs.
