I'm not impressed with Romney as a Presidential candidate.

I don't care about his Mormon faith. I prefer that to Muslim or Atheist.

His personal achievements are indeed impressive, I don't dispute that. In fact, I'm not really disputing anything about him. I just don't find him to be an impressive candidate.

Until I compare him to Obama.
Ones a communist, the other is not.You do the math.
Do you want grape or orange flavored kool-aid to go with your statism? Mere details of how to increase the power of government. Communism, facism, authoritarianism, totalitarianism, etc. are all just particular brands of statism. Liberty will never be expanded by any brand of statism, including Romney's.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Obama vs. Romney is not comparable to orange vs. grape flavored Kool-Aid. It's DOG TURD vs. orange flavored Kool Aid. (Romney's orange, by the way)

You're worried about advancing statism. So am I. But I've always been told that when you're Butt-deep in alligators, that's no time to hold a meeting about how to drain the swamp. The overriding concern for this election is that Obama is doing damage that will be difficult (perhaps impossible) to undo. Another term for him may take us beyond the point of no possible return (assuming we are not already there). So it is essential that we not cast a protest vote againmst Romney and for Obama and give Obama another term. It's sort of like that green slimey worm medicine my mother used to make us take every spring. It left a horrible taste in our mouths, but the alternative was to be slowly eaten from the inside out by worms.

LOL! The way I see it is that Romney is a delay tactic giving us time to regroup.

This is a very good scenario since it would mean 4 years of Congress doing absolutely nothing, which is when it works best.

He’s a Mormon. So what? I know a few Mormons. They’re good people. Guess what? That Mr.-nice-guy approach to life Romney gets beat up for all the time is not atypical of those folks. They’ll tell you they are Christians. Some people doubt that. But if Obama gets the benefit of the doubt, then Romney sure as hell ought to. Heck, I know some fundamentalist Baptists here in these hills that are scary weird. Mormonism is no more a legitimate issue this year than Catholicism was when JFK ran. Or Judaism would be if Joe Liebermann was running, KREUTZ!
A) A jewish prez would just kind of officially seal the deal as it were, since it really does seem DC is a satellite of Tel Aviv anyway thanks to AIPAC.

B) I know Mormons. Alot of them. Familiarty breeds contempt and all that.

NY spawned them after all(the Burned Over district), and they've been quietly building their numbers there since. They've actually begun chasing the jews out of Forest Hills (which managed to keep the shvartze out!) since their wealth is rather high and conenctions tight. On the surface theyre great people, but you see Mormonism has been called American Islam for a reason, they're very similar in cultural attitudes.

Trust me on this, to a Mormon you are an infidel and would be treated accordingly when they are in a position to do so. Why people who openly hate Muslims but decree Mormons are Ok because they call themsevesChristian is beyond me. Look a little deeper the similarities between LDS and islam are striking, right down to being founded by an illiterate pedophile.

C) I loathe Lieberman, who doesn't?

Or four more years to sink into further complacency.

edit: Obama isnt a communist (or even a socialist) but a typical Keynesian, same as well...pretty much every POTUS since the early mid 20th century in some form or another(largely excepting Reagan only). Obama has just been the most aggressive.

The last pre-Keynesian Prez was Hoover, whose market based solution to the Depression (i.e. ride it out) cost him the election. In hindsight he was right, but at the time people demanded "something be done".

Only problem with that is that Obama will be making appointments to the Federal Judiciary and Agencies for those 4 years. The way he's been ruling as a despot by executive order and Agency fiat, I don't think we CAN live with it for another 4 years.

Obama is a socialist cancer on the body politic. CUT HIM OUT, ASAP!

Frankly, neither impresses me... but as said... what choice do we have.... and also, I have still not decided... they both scare me... just have to figure out which is the most frightening.... what really frightens me is that there are many very involved, educated people that are in the same boat as me... and that is also very frightening... my attorney brother in law who is very well connected and knows many of the people involved in both parties.... also has many questions... it is not an easy choice... I am a conservative but that still doesn't define the choice... at least IMHO.

I can't stand either choice. Where is a true libertarian option? I don't want someone dictating to me what I can do because they think they are intellectually superior (Democrats) or because you think you're morally superior (Republicans). Keep your elitist attitudes out of my bedroom, my wallet, and my life.

I need to start the FU Party. I'll tell everyone it's the Freedom United party, but VGOF members will know the real story.

No, my own prejudices (which admittedly are legion) are likely vastly different from yours.

The book Similarities Between Mormonism and Islam by Brannon S. Howse was written in 1912. This predates my existence by many generations, so it is not my own unique prejudicial opinion that LDS is very similar to Islam.

I don't think the South has many Mormons (seriously, you'd be amazed how many the NYC metro area has), but once you get past the friendly smiles and willingness to lend a hand you get a much better picture of them, and it it gets very creepy very fast.

Tip: Never, ever take a Book of Mormon, even to be polite. You've been warned.

Tip: To spite someone you truly dislike, have a Book of Mormon sent to them.

This is America, denying any one religious group or minority a shot at the presidency is unamerican.

A bigot is a bigot no matter who they trod on.

Can't mince words on that one Rick.....

Now, now.............. Step back. Take a deeeeep breath. Now THINK:

....about the next time you get really p!ssed off at somebody on this forum and YOU want/need to be abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, and hateful. If we've established a practice of not allowing that just because Kreutz does it ALL THE TIME, you won't be able to vent and you may pop a gasket or something. Besides, Kreutz is a damnyankee. Chances are he doesn't know how to be any other way. :hysterical:
