Oh, and tell each and every one of them, "Welcome to real real world, you bureaucratic parasite."
And over in current reality the have a union. One of the strongest in town too. Ergo none of that will ever happen.

Now, if theres a do-over, why, it could be written into the law no public employee of the federal government has the right to unionize, just like thats written in for military personnel now.

That will never happen with the current cast of characters and the framework they operate in.

You said it yourself. You have a union because the government allows (in fact, encourages) it. But they do not allow one in the military. That's because even the damned government knows the military couldn't function with a union. The record is clear. The rest of the government is not functioning, either. Time to trim ALL the deadwood.

As to whether it will happen; if you're right and things must play out to the bitter end, we'll see how long they hang around after the paychecks start bouncing.

If Romney does get elected, we can all at least dream that he'll wield the meat-axe like he's caught so much grief for doing at Bain Capital. He demonstrably knows what to do - if he'll do it and if he's allowed to. Failing in that, at some point during the sinking of the ship somebody will get desperate enough to do the right thing, but in that case you'd almost certainly be right - it will be too late.

Please don't confuse my statements with a desire to see the government collapse, that would be akin to desiring the sun not rise or the weather change to my liking; all is totally out of my control no matter what.

My line of reasoning is more eventually the debt will be called by creditors, and when it does, well, its game over.

Some folks think this can be averted or delayed, but I just think its best to just get it over with ASAP much like nay other unpleasant experience.

Wouldn't want my dentist to dither on yanking a rotten tooth, maybe spread it out over three appointments. I'd want the sucker ripped out in one quick clean shot.

Having had a tooth yanked recently I can tell you that it is not the initial yanking that is the problem but the aftermath.

As far as debt goes...we have a problem to be sure. However, china has more problems than just holding our debts. So while debt is ALWAYS bad, I don't think that is our main concern. Our main worry is the increasing and ever creeping power grab of the federal gov't over every aspect of our lives. I am not so worried about our enemies on the outside, I am worried about those who do things because we are too stupid to think for ourselves and must be told how to live our lives.

I'm having trouble disagreeing with most of what Komrade Kreutz has had to say. Cats are lying with dogs and pigs have received their take off clearances! Cue the general pandemonium (which we both feel is nearly inevitable at this late date).

Romney, for me, is still at this point a bridge to far for my R considerations. I will be re-evaluating until the erection in Nov. At this point, my only hope is for the Super Delegates or a brokered election to save the day for Santorum, and he shows up in a mode counter to his (endorsing Specter, team player) past.

Back on topic-

Change is always rough, just the nature of the beast.

I find it amusing apparently Romneys only strong point is he'd delay the inevitable just a bit longer than Obama. Not exactly a resounding vote of confidence lol.

I'm just saying man, the fact these are our two(!) choices just shows how terminally ill the system really is.

Time will tell. I keep hearing from republicans how the government should run like a household or business in regards to its debt problems. Not sure about anyone else, but if I were in debt yes I'd cut my spending to reduce the outflow of capital, but I'd also take on more work to increase my inflow of capital. The analogy of course is cut spending raise taxes.

Not too long ago every Republican primary candidate said they'd reject a spending plan that raised taxes $1 for every $10 in cuts.

No one likes taxes, but the truth is to right this ship to even just to buy time they're gonna have to be a part of the solution to paying off the carefree debt of the last century.

Given the aversion to taxes there really can be no solution even with a meat axe Pres. Romney and a Republican controlled house and senate; the debt will still grow and eventual collapse is just as inevitable as under Obamas record spending, it just will take longer.

Best case scenario IMO is a federal default and a do over with a barebones government that cannot rack up debt like this one did over the generations. This would leave minimal transitional pain and I stand by my claim the states would prevent anarchy or such.

And yes, on topic, Mohammed was a kiddy diddler. Nowadays he'd have someone lobbying to make it legal in America.

I'll tell you the problem with this country..

Too many Americans are busy watching TV to do anything about the state of our land. They think someone else will solve their problems. If its not fixable by taking a pill, they don't want to do it. Laziness and convenience have put this country in the state that it is in. Ignorant people spout off at the mouth in an effort to make themselves seem superior to others when all that is needed is for us to come together and form a unified effort to take our country back. After all, we are in the UNITED STATES... United we stand, divided we fall. If people would turn their attention to what matters and act upon their feelings, we'd all be better off. Key word: ACT. Not to be confused with talk.

Sorry folks I was immediately attacked upon my very 1st post on the forum for being a "christian zionist" by the gentlemen. Then I was insulted "as a jew" because I stood toe to toe for Israel. It seems he will post anything for the purpose of pleasing those who will swallow it. I realize I am on "ignore" but so far I haven't relinquished my rights to see all comments made here. That being the case I feel free to comment.

I'm not questioning the genetic soundness of his family, nor am I questioning his ability to comprehend, like he did me.

I'm merely reacting to what I see.

He's giving you people the Obama treatment and you don't seem to be catching on. Frankly anyone who wants the country to go down to start over has no points left in my book.

I have one mode... crotchity old conservative fart who tells you what he thinks.. take it or leave it. I'm probably too old to change anyway. My son still won't come back on this forum because of what this maniac Obamaton said here.

Genetic defect out!

@ratherfish - Don't think for a second that Kreutz is fooling anyone - nor is he trying to fool anyone. He's been very clear from the outset that he likes the Obama agenda - for whatever reason. Even though his views are skewed from what the majority in this forum believes, he still provides thoughtful input into the discussions.

We do try to stay away from name-calling - if he called you a Zionist, then you could use it as a discussion point to teach the difference between a Zionist and a Jew rather than attacking his threads in other topics that have nothing to do with the apparent bone that you have to pick with him.

All that said - you know that anything your write remains unseen by him if you're on his ignore list, so why even bother? Move on with some useful input elsewhere on the site. :coffee:

That's a really good point. And to take it a bit further - many people who sit around watching TV take the information that they receive from it as Gospel. The media puts a spin on things (take the Trayvon case for instance where NBC editors omitted part of the 911 call to make it seem more racial in its intent which kicked up a firestorm of crazies across the country, including our own beloved POTUS)

It sickens me, some of the things I see on TV these days - not just news media, but all of the GLBT crap - the cursing - the sexuality - TV has turned into a wholly immoral beast and there are very few channels that my children are allowed to watch these days even though I pay for over 300 channels worth of programming.
