This is turning into a fiasco. It is looking worse ans worse for Zimmerman. If the meida has it right--which i doubt--then he was stupid on all accounts and is in deep deep poop. However one death is not an excuse inciting violence. Those who are screaming for retribution need to shut it. The courts have just begun,this process takes a long long time.

That's part of my point. If Zimmerman's actions were as bad as the media is painting them to be, then why didn't the police arrest him? Even if they didn't feel they had enough evidence at the time to arrest him, upon further review of the evidence you'd think they would've gone back and done so if things really were as bad as they appear. Still appearances can and often are deceiving. Sadly, a young man has lost his life in all of this and the politicians, phonies (Al Sharpton & Louis Farrakhan), and liberal media are using his death to advance their agendas. Case in point, Karen Finney at MSDNC is saying this incident is the fault of Gingrich, Santorum, & Limbaugh because of things they've said in the past, and also on Romney -- because of things he didn't say! Wow.

An 85-year-old woman was sexually assaulted and battered to death by a home invader who also shot her 90-year-old husband in the face with a BB gun.

Nancy and Bob Strait, who had celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in December, were discovered by their daughter at their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Both the pensioners were rushed to hospital where Mrs Strait, who was nearly blind, died from her injuries.

Police have arrested 20-year-old Tyrone Dale David Woodfork in connection with the case.

Note this is a British news source, won't hear a peep of this in America. Doesn't fit the narrative. I'd say "guess the race", but its superfluous.

And even if this did get national play (it never would anyway) no one would hear it over Trayvon Martin anyway.

This happens almost every day in America, Trayvons happen once a decade.

I'm on the fence on this. Zimmerman made a bad decision when he followed the guy, in hindsight that is easy to say. But everybody is talking like he is chasing him down. We don't know that at all. If he was following him from some good distance it's certainly not illegal to be walking in his own neighborhood. The police dispatcher technically did not tell him not to do it, they simply said they "didn't need him to do that." They have already released that was an advisory statement, not a legal command.
People get upset that he had call the police 40 some times, but as a neighbor watch that is what he is suppose to do. That he has never confronted anybody shows he has restraint. That doesn't mean anything to me.
They keep showing pictures of Martin when he looks to be like 12 and saying Zimmerman outweighs him by 100 pounds. And calling him a "Baby" Maybe. But Zimmerman looks on the flabby side. The profiles of Martin said he enjoyed playing football. Was he on a team recently? Where are recent pictures of him? If he was adept at tackling people, he could do a lot of damage if he was all muscle - even if he was lighter. Also it was reported that he was at his fathers because he was at his fathers because he was suspended from school for 10 days. It has been rumored it was for tardiness. 10 days? That seems harsh for tardiness. Has that been offically released? You know, versus say suspended for assaulting others?

After I started typing this, I see Drudge is reporting a Fox station is saying there is an eyewitness who saw it and said Martin was the attacker, Zimmerman was on bottom, and Zimmerman was yelling for help. If this new wrinkle is accurate, then this is not stand your ground at all but rather straight up self defense. If agent A engages in non-lethal threats (following someone) and agent B responds with lethal force (punching someones face into the ground) then agent A is justified by responding with lethal force. Now I still say Zimmerman should not have under any circumstances followed him on foot. Not smart, not smart at all.


But this does explain why he was not arrested immediatly.


Additionally I find it amazingly disingenous that the media keeps showing what looks like a line up portrait of Zimmerman and a 5 year old picutre of Martin looking like an angel. How about we get two reasonably recent pictures of each of them.

Sounds to me like zimmerman hounded the kid until he got fed up and struck back, which is what zimmerman wanted because it gave him the opening he needed to shoot in what he calls self defense.

That's just speculation on my part going by what I've read but it looks like that to me.

If, when the shot was fired, he was on his back and being pummeled, it may be an excuse under Florida law. I have read of witnesses describing that as the being the case.

It appears this is what a FOX news station in FL is reporting. It was Zimmerman hollering for help, it was Zimmerman who was on the ground on his back with his attacker on top of him. They are reporting an eye witness and reporting the reason the local cops did not arrest Zimmerman was because the evidence (grass stains on the back of his shirt, the eye witness, and the scrapes/bruises on Zimmerman showed that he'd been attacked.

The show goes on. We'll see how long it takes the media to spread this side of the incident after spreading the initial story "facts" as well as the emotional circus that has gone on since.
