Been taking a different turn in my musical tastes lately. One if my favorite bands is Slipknot and they released a new album while I was underway so I've been drawn to them, especially the songs "The Devil in I" "Killpop" and "Custer"

I've also been listening to Five Finger Deathpunch "War Is The Answer" and "Wrong Side of Heaven"

I don't have much time to do anything lately though. This thing they called a baby popped out the wife and it makes all this darn noise and demands attention and stuff. Couldn't be happier!

It's kind of fun to hear about you yunguns just starting out in parenthood. You think noise and attention-mongering is bad?

Good luck brotha! It's a lot of work raising good solid kids in today's world. Best thing you can do is what John Prine suggested - "Blow up your TV."

Since we are on the subject of kids and music!

Recently, my 5 year old showed up with the tablet and asked if he could listen to music. I said he could, so he started up Pandora, and I promptly engrossed myself in a nap on the couch.

Sometime later, I woke to find him safely ensconced in a blanket-fort, holding the dog prisoner, and listening to rock and roll... I also found out he had been "skipping" anything he didn't like, and giving a "thumbs up" to everything he did like! I found out that my Pandora channel, "Fun Rock", had songs added (as best I remember) from Pat Benatar, Queen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Barenaked Ladies, Journey, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Guns N Roses!

Guess he likes classical...

He had added a James Taylor too. He told me he liked it, "but it was a cowboy song"
