I'm scandalized. That "Home Free" outfit needs to have their asses kicked by a man in black for butchering Johnny Cash's song like that. Might as well have had it "interpreted" by the "Village People", BY GUM.
Next thing you know, y'all will post Tennessee Ernie Ford's "Sixteen Tons" being crapped up by Tiny Tim.

One of my favorite local bands from back in the day was Antic Hay. Just learned today that the former lead guitarist was arrested for bank robbery in Va Beach. These are very strange times indeed.

Re: What are you listening to?
Well, YouTube deleted that "Asleep at the Wheel" video, apparently. Couldn't find another one, but I listened to a version of Hubbin It by Cindy Walker, and another version by Bob Wills.
GF isn't much into old country songs, so she thought that she had angered me, and I was punishing her. Heh.
I was listening to Conway Twitty, earlier. I had read that when he released "Make Believe", rumors started up that Conway Twitty was really Elvis Presley, recording under a different name. As I was listening to that song, snickering about that story, GF popped her head out from behind the curtain and said "Aargh!! I hate Elvis!" She then got annoyed because I laughed at her.

Re: What are you listening to?
@Swamp: If you listen to "Make Believe", and take the sound quality of the era into consideration (vinyl records heard through an AM radio, or vinyl records played through those portable players, for example), then it's easy to understand the confusion. Also, don't forget that Conway started out in rock'n'roll (as did Waylon Jennings). Given the success of Elvis, it would be reasonable to speculate that, perhaps, Conway intentionally put forth an effort to sound like Elvis. He did copy the hairstyle, after all.
@Palladin: I listen to a great many things that GF hates, lol. That's why I bought her some earplugs. Although, what really gets her goat is when I start singing along. Also, I find that she turns red and runs away when I start singing along with whatever song is playing in a store, and try to dance with her in the cereal aisle. Apparently, that behavior is not as normal as I was led to believe.
