Realwood Amish Furniture in Ruckersville is firearm friendly. Don't have the details in memory, but they are offering a discount for legal carriers and there's a drawing for a rocking chair as well.

Saw my first (and so far only) OC'er in Roanoke at Dr Craig Wilhelms podiatry in Roanoke county on 419.
The OC'er and the woman at the front desk were having a friendly chat about guns when I was paying my co-pay on the way out.

Not sure this constitutes friendly since it is posted but it happend.
So Friday evening I stopped by my vape shop to refill my eliquid and there was a new sign on the window. You know the one. Red circle with a slash through it. I have been using this vape shop for a year now since I gave up the real thing and it was never there before.
I stood there for a minute staring at the sticker thinking to myself WTF. At about that point one of guys (a manager) that works there recognized me and opened the door and was like come on in.. at which point I pointed to the sign and then said WTF. At which his reply was, oh that, corporate Aholes. Don't worry about that you're fine. So I went in and he asked me if I was carrying to which I responded "of course". At that point we started talking open vs CC and such which ended in him telling my to ignore the sign and that he did not agree with the new signs and carried "on occasion" himself but let his CC expire.
I conducted my business and left.

I'd like to see some liability put on the corporation if bad things happen in their victim zones. That would likely trigger some changes in policy... but because going into the victim zone is voluntary at most places, I don't think the liability would stick from a strictly civil perspective.
BUT if we could get it into the law, then it would stick absolutely.

JD... looks like some in Congress agree with us on that point.
Safe Student Act has been introduced to repeal the federal code for Gun Free School Zones. Maybe, with any luck, it will pass and help set anew standard.

SEC. 2. REPEAL OF THE GUN-FREE SCHOOL ZONES ACT OF 1990 AND AMENDMENTS
TO THAT ACT.
(a) In General.--Section 922 of title 18, United States Code, is
amended by striking subsection (q).
(b) Related Amendments.--
(1) Section 921(a) of such title is amended by striking
paragraphs (25) through (27) and redesignating paragraphs (28),
(29), and (32) through (35) as paragraphs (25) through (30),
respectively.
(2) Section 924(a) of such title is amended--
(A) in paragraph (1)(B), by striking ``(k), or
(q)'' and inserting ``or (k)''; and
(B) by striking paragraph (4) and redesignating
paragraphs (5) through (7) as paragraphs (4) through
(6), respectively.
(3) The Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990 (18 U.S.C. 921
note, 922 note; section 1702 of Public Law 101-647; 104 Stat.

I support private property rights, and the right to do business as you see fit, just as much as I support 2nd Amendment rights.
As much as I hate to see the "no-guns" signs, they have the right to post them and create their rules. We are responsible for our own safety. Thus, we have the responsibility to take note of the signage, to recognize the inherent danger, and to simply refuse doing business in such a place.
Opening the door to liability, even just from a civil side, would serve only to further whittle away what little unmolested rights that a business owner has left. (And supporting such a thing would possibly have the undesirable effect of making us, as gun owners, look like the bullies we are are accused of being.)

As much as I would like to believe this is true, reality is that you are wrong. Maybe not from a moral stand point, but definitely from a Constitutional standpoint. The only private property "rights" you have is to protect you from the government. That's it.
Business owners don't have personal property rights with their business Otherwise they would be able to refuse service based on sex, age, color, religious beliefs, sexual preference, etc., etc.. That's why the courts have been able to force bakers, photographers, and catering companies to serve gay couples at weddings, etc. Most choose to go out of business or go to jail, but its the reality we live in.
And if a business can't refuse to cater a gay couple's wedding because of their own personal religious beliefs, then I should be able to defend myself in that same store under the same principles. Otherwise, the store owner is expressing prejudice against a group of people based on their belief in their God given natural right to protect themselves, actually violating the Constitutional rights of a much, much larger percentage of the population than the LGBT community.
I don't make the rules; I don't like all the rules, but damn it, everyone is going to play by the same set of rules or there will be strife and chaos.

IMHO - if a business forces me to relinquish my right to protect myself then they should take all responsibility for my safety and be libel for any damage to me and mine because of my not being able to provide appropriate defense.
That means that if they display that sign and enforce it they should:
1. Limit access to the facility with a full scan for weapons for all that enter.
2. Have sufficient insurance to cover any and all medical, psychological, and wage loss charges that will arise from an incident that could have been stopped or lessened by a legally armed visitor.

OBTW - I open carry everywhere I can in the Charlottesville area with rarely any comments except for one negative one in four years.
This includes:
All three Kroger stores and both Kroger gas stations.
Red Lobster on Rio Rd.
Best Buy
Lowe's
CiCi's Pizza
Miracle Ear hearing center
Verizon cell phone store on 250
Tip Top Restaurant on 250
WalMart north of town and the one to the east near I64 and 15.
Burger King in Barracks Rd. shopping center.
Carter Mountain orchard stores (Great view of the area from there!)

Old thread but...
Went to Dave and Busters in Glan Allen. Small one but had sign right out front stating concealed carry is tolerated as long as all laws are followed blah blah. Yes I was carrying that day but surprised to see the usual do's and don'ts sign including something of a hot button issue. Not in small print either.
