That would be the reasonable way to approach it.

"The right of the people to own and bear arms shall not be infringed." To me, the CHP process is an infringement. Why should I have to ask for permission to do something that the Constitution states that I already have the right to do? Oh, that's right, so the state and others can make money off it!
I have had extensive firearms training and experience. I OC occasionally. I CC never because I have not submitted to the Commonwealth's infringement on my rights.

I hear ya. If it were left to me I'd be living on top of the ground somewhere far south of here and there wouldnt be a mexican within 1000 miles...well maybe 100 miles...ooops, farm country...ok 1 mile...at any rate, you get my point...the only thing stopping me is a pretty little gal sleeping over on the couch who likes being able to swing a dead cat and hitting 14 mexicans, 8 muslims, and 32 liberal progressives all while standing firmly in one spot anywhere here in NOVA. Some things you just dont want to think about FedEx being able to deliver to the sticks...
No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...

Since we're delving into racial/ethnic issues, I'll post this here, but it doesn't seem relevent to the subject of this thread. Perhaps another place in the forum would be more appropriate, but here it goes for now... I married into a family of LEGAL Mexican immigrants. My wife's grandfather worked in coal mines and as a tailor to earn enough money to come over and bring his family. They were never wealthy, but never on welfare. They worked hard and remain some of the most generous people I have ever known. It's sad that people still assume that if you're hispanic (or black), that you must be a liberal. My hispanic kids are on the conservative/libertarian end of the spectrum. I have conservative black friends who are ostracized by other black people because they don't think the way they "should". I think America will be better if we can move beyond racial politics and evaluate people by how they act, not how they look. BTW, +1 on the filipino food!
My question? I had CONSERVATIVE, and I mean more "Right" leaning than me, friends from the African-American Community... vote for Obama.
How?
More precisely WHY!?!?
That would be like me voting for BERNIE SANDERS because he's ethnically JEWISH, even though he is CLEARLY not in the same camp.
I never understood how the race card worked, more precisely, why it only works ONE WAY!
And try Siopao for breakfast. How can you go wrong with lil' baked buns of BBQ goodness!?! Miss that community more than you ever know... But... with kids, jobs, and such, we all lost touch.
Rest assured... a lot of the people that generally lean to the conservative side but voted for Obama in 2008 are probably not very happy with their decision now. At the time, he probably seemed like the best decision to them and certainly personified the "hope and change" that was advertised. And the other side of the ticket wasn't very appealing... two really tough choices there.
I do agree that we need to get beyond this race crap. I'm quite tired of it. I'm only half filipino but still get treated like crap in some parts of VA because I don't "look" right. Everyone just needs to give it up. I'm talking about those on the left that always pull out the race card and those on the right that just hate anything that's not white.

Makes no sense to me, either, especially with the amount of attention given to MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech. It's like nobody heard the bit about people one day not being "judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." My ancestors came from so many different places over the last four centuries (the first ones here settled in VA in the 1600s, the most recent came in the 1900s) that I couldn't be anything but just "American". No other place would have me, I'm sure!

I don't think I've had it before, but it sounds delicious! My wife's brother is married to a wonderful filipina girl -- I'll have to ask her about it.

Today's winning UN-question.
I carry OC because it does not require asking "permission" from the goobermint to do so. I have a permit for those infrequent occasions where I deem it more prudent to show a little more discretion - and they are RARE, indeed.
My permit is a "don't get hassled once you're already being hassled if you absolutely need an out" permit. If I am OC no officer will be shown my permit. If I am CC and they "figger it out" then I might be inclined.

Perhaps Zeph was not referring to the Americans of Mexican origin, but illegals. It is certainly not hard to find them. What is hard to find is the will to do something about them.

I agree. Some of them really are just trying to support their families, but that doesn't give them the right to disregard our laws. I don't think enforcing our laws makes us uncompassionate. I enforce rules with my kids, and I still love them -- they just need to understand that there are consequences when you don't obey the rules.
I just read from the Talmud (I that's from da Jooz)
"One who is kind when he should be cruel, will later be cruel when he should be kind."
As in, when your kids are older and really need your help, you will have failed by not preparing them. Also, they will be nearly adults, so it is a time in which you can be more of a guide/ally unless you have not laid down the law beforehand.
At least that's this gentile's opinion. I like it.

Indeed...referring to illegals...and Im sure they are easy to spot...hanging aroung the U-Haul, Home Depot, lined up along Little River Turnpike, etc...walking, riding bikes, etc...
For the record, if someone immigrates to our country legally then welcome!!!!! And, I hope you become a citizen soon and adopt our ways...please learn English so I can speak with you...
Btw, my beautiful wife Young is Korean...and a citizen now for over 30 years...she is also quite conservative and knew she was marrying a right wing nut redneck...
