I just took Pat Goodale's Tactical Carbine Class (AWESOME! www.pgpft.com). There was a rep there from LWRC who was shooting Wolf in his 16" 1:7 twist rifle who key holed (using my rough math skills) at least 50% of his shots. It could be his gun was extra dirty. The use of surplus ammo could have cause corrosion. This is just an example. There were others who did not have any issues.

My gun was pretty dirty (wanted to see how it shot gunked up) and shot 55 grain Federal and PRVI Partizan without one failure.

For self defense, don't go cheap. For plinking, go what fits your wallet and will no harm your weapon, imo
