The problem is cost of magazines, and spare parts.
I'm still pondering this on the "TreeStand of Woe".
I know there's a grease gun mag conversion lower for the FA Uzi, I guess it would work on the semi as well. Much better than the OEM .45 mags - higher cap and cheaper.

Yeah, and the mods for those Grease Gun mags are pretty simple actually.
hhhmmm, I might need to research this further.

DANGIT!
Taurus has release the CT-G2 which is a PISTOL CALIBER CARBINE! Their 9MM holds 34... how many does their .45 ACP hold? 10!
REALLY!?!?! SERIOUSLY GUYS!?!?! WHY IN GOD'S HOLY NAME WOULD YOU BUILD AN HK-UMP LOOK ALIKE, AND NOT MAKE HIGH-CAP MAGS FOR IT!?!?

I guess you could modify the magazine or just make your own that would hold a high capacity. Then you could turn around and sell them on the accessory market.

Looking at the responses here, you'd think Keltec would make their Sub2000 in .45 ACP. With Glock mags, you can get over 30 rounds fairly easily. My Sub2000 in 9mm uses Glock mags, and I run it with either standard Glock 17 mags or with 31 round mags.

Hhhmmmm, I have three high cap Gen1 Glock 21 mags when I owned one that I haven't been able to sell...
So. Other than a KRISS, or a Modied Glock 21, any one take those?

Aren't there some ARs that take Glock mags? (I don't keep up with AR stuff so they could have been one-offs or prototypes.)

Haven't heard about those...
Now I know that Olympic Arms makes a .45 upper, and there is a company that makes an AR lower that accepts grease gun mags...
That setup is a lil' more than I want to spend.

That's the only real problem with the KRISS.

CORRECT! If the KRISS were say... $900 bucks? I would own one by now. Love the gun, love the "Downward recoil", love the set up... Hate the price.

You could probably negotiate a better price if you were to buy several thousand...
Edit: If you get it knocked down to $900, I'll take one off your hands.

Forget the fact the gun only hold 10 rounds! It's ugly as sin, why did they do that crap with the mag well! And I'm not hot on the stock either.

The thing that strikes me funny? It's almost like a Brazillian version of the HK, INCLUDING THE LOW CAP MAG!

None seem to be what I'm looking for, so the PERFECT .45 ACP carbine would use AR furniture, Hi Cap Grease Gun Mags, Uzi bolt/barrel, and be under 5lb, and cost less than $750-$1000 dollars...
I happen to like the H&K USC carbine. You can get a replacement lower for $250ish that uses grease mags, but the setup will cost you more than your asking for.
But I _THINK_ what you really want is this:
https://www.mgi-military.com
AR platform with a modular mag well. They have a .45 ACP Grease gun mag well, then you get a standard AR upper with a .45acp barrel and away you go.
A few min of work and you can make it a standard 5.56x45, or take AK mags, or any other of a variety of setups.

Why not a Marlin camp .45? I know it doesn't take grease gun mags, but it does take 1911 mags so you wouldn't have to buy 2 types of magazines. Only issue is finding one since they stopped making them in 1999.

My requirements for a Perfect .45 ACP Carbine:
- 20+ round magazine that is inexpensive.
- Dependable action/receiver that has been proven to last.
- 12+" bbl for higher velocities.
- Ease of parts replacement.
- Cost under $700 if possible.
All the suggestions are great, but very few meet ALL those requirements. That's the problem! No manufacturer has built that yet. Sure there are some mods, and variations, but nothing that fits ALL of those... The closest?
The UZI .45 ACP, except for COST!
