Welcome to the forum. Now find someone that will show you how to properly use the weapon and that will make you at ease with it. See if you and your boyfriend can come to the Meet and Shoot in May.

That's the best advice. Find someone who is willing to help you and teach. If you can come to Bills it will be lots of fun.
