Responsible gun owners don't break laws, whether they agree with them or not. If you don't like a law, help to bring about change to correct it. Just because a tree falls and no one is there to hear it, doesn't mean that it didn't make a sound.

I think USPS is next. It's ridiculous that someone who has been licensed to carry concealed in a state area, cannot carry in a Federal.

I think the FEDERAL laws should bow to STATE laws! Only in cases of Interstate commerce, or in cases of international law.

See, the thing is, the USPS is interstate commerce...but I do agree with you on the facility residing within a State.

You can carry concealed in a federal park?

Yes, you can carry in national Parks asking as you're in accordance with state law. IE, CHP or open carry.
You still can't go into any government owned buildings.

I'm thinking that we should mount it to the shower rather than let the user wear it. Kind of like a house gun, but in the shower. Of course it will need drain holes and a splash shield to keep most of the water off of it. Needs to be made out of plastic/polymer though as leather won't hold up well or require way to much maintenance. Also, need a gun that can take the water abuse just fine. Perhaps a wheel gun would work better? Don't the SEALs use the S&W 686 for beaches with lots of silt?


To the OP question:

I carry everywhere I legally can. That excludes work and gun shows, but other than that I carry nearly 100%. I carry around the house (sometimes just a pocket pistol like when I'm working on the car), I carry to the store, I carry when I go out to eat, I carry here, there and everywhere! I usually carry concealed, but ocasionally I do open carry. I usually carry a Glock 32 (.357SIG...usually Gold Dots or RangerTs) or a Ruger LCP (Corbon DPX is the best 380Auto load IMHO) or a Wilson Combat CQB 1911 (.45ACP with RangerTs or HSTs). I carry, but what I carry depends on the day.

Exactly! A stainless steel wheel gun IS a shower gun. They tuck nicely into a speedo, too.

There is no statue in the va code that prohibits it. Tite 18 sec 930 subsection d of the us code provides an exception that alows carrying of firearms into a Federal facility for "lawful purposes."

Sometimes it's legal to carry concealed in a U.S. Post Office.

It is legal to walk into a post office with a shotgun in a box and mail it.

I carry almost everywhere, almost all the time... much higher than 75% of the time. I will not disclose the times and places I do not carry. When it's cold it's maybe 60% CC 40% OC. If it's nice out maybe 90% OC.

Your should have asked where you can't carry. That would be much easier to answer.

I dont think so but perhaps I'm wrong. The USPS is consider federal property under the provision that bans weapons. The federal code says that anywhere federal employees have a regular place of duty is considered federal property under that law. I'm also quite certain that VA code does not supersede US Code...of course all this depends on what you mean by lawful purposes.

You could test your theory with OC in a crowded US Post Office for us and report back in say, oh 3-5 years...

Yes, as of July of last year. If you open carry it is not illegal to consume alcohol so long as you do not become intoxicated.

§18.2-308 (J.3.): J3. No person who carries a concealed handgun onto the premises of any restaurant or club as defined in 4.1-100 for which a license to sell and serve alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption has been granted by the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board under Title 4.1 of the Code of Virginia may consume an alcoholic beverage while on the premises. A person who carries a concealed handgun onto the premises of such a restaurant or club and consumes alcoholic beverages is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor. However, nothing in this subsection shall apply to a federal, state, or local law-enforcement officer.

To answer your question, yes, you may carry concealed in an establishment that serves alcohol as long as you do not consume any alcohol.

As pointed out earlier, if you are an LEO, you may consume alcohol while carrying concealed. I will not comment on the wisdom of making LEO's a privileged class where this is concerned, other than:
