Big plus 1 for that idea. We might all get shocked a little the first few years though until things start get straightened out...rromeo wrote:My idea for Congress is to get rid of the elections, and run it like jury duty.

Re: Why we fight for gun rights
Could it get much worse? My idea was based on voter registration, and the callups would be 33% Republicans, 33% Democrats, and 34% other. You would be on duty for a period of 6 to 12 months, Compensation would be equivalent to the US average household income. Of course lots of details aren't there, but it doesn't matter because it would never fly anyway.zephyp wrote:Big plus 1 for that idea. Never initiate force against another. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.KYFHO

A better idea (IMHO), would be to throw them all out, do away with political parties, impose a 2 term limit, and all bills MUST have constitutional authority to even be considered. Lastly, shutdown all governmental agencies that do not have constitutional authority (i.e. TSA, ATF, Dept. of Non-Education, etc.), withdraw from the UN, as well as returning our monetary system to a precious metals based system (unlike today's that literally is not worth the paper that it's printed on).
Then we would at least have a chance of undoing all the damage.

Good start...I like that "shutdown all governmental agencies that do not have constitutional authority" part...Yarddawg wrote:A better idea (IMHO), would be to throw them all out, do away with political parties, impose a 2 term limit, and all bills MUST have constitutional authority to even be considered. I'm still shaking my head in disbelief that the republicans in the house arent going after foreign aid and money to the UN. Those seem like quick kills with high return to me and none are needed. Instead they keep picking at little crap.VBshooter wrote:Yes Yes Yes! Bait and switch? ,,, They may have the same issue the Dems did in thinking that we're stupid and have become docile and inattentive now that the elections are over.... Not a smart move on their part !!! It can cost them next go around if they don;t realize we 've had enough of the old ways of Washington.. Don;t get elected and then play grab ass with the public... It's paying a lot more attention than they realize I think.
