I live in Newport News. I was surprised that it went as smoothly and as quickly as it did. I presented my application to the Clerk's office and the first thing they did was date/time stamp it. They then gave me a voucher to take down the road to the police HQ. I walked in and up to the counter. The lady was polite and knew exactly why I was there. I was escorted into a small room where I presented my fingertips to a device that looked like a photocopy machine. The man that took the prints told me I would have my permit within 45 days. It took 29.

I was supposed to drop my application off at Roanoke counties court a two days ago but the missus landed in the hospital, got her back today but better wait a week or two till she's 100% recovered before I leave her home alone with the kids to stand in line for an hour or three.

Will report my experience when I have one to share.

In PWC it took me 35 days. Govt. already had my finger prints on file through my job.

Y'all were close it is a Military DD-214 or a Hunter's Safety course card.
