Shame, its otherwise a nice gun.
I don't think it is a shame, it just isn't a pocket gun like the LCP IMHO. The LC9 is much closer to a Walther 380 or PPK or other sub sub-compact guns. They are a lot easier to conceal than a double stack 9mm.

I'm not a fan of the internal key lock, either...

I believe most Rugers have them now.

They do seem to be better than the S&W locks - I've never heard of the Ruger lock failing and disabling the gun.

Fortunately, that's not yet true. All Ruger revolvers made today except the LCR are free of such lock baggage, as is the 10/22. The SR9 has a magazine disconnect, true, but no key lock, and the mag disconnect is pretty easily removed. I don't believe the P-series has a nanny-lock either.

How about gun manufacturers just forget CA and make guns for the rest of us. I'd totally go out and buy a new gun from manufacturers who cut out the internal lock, mag disconnect and chamber indicator nonsense. I wish they would quite shipping them with those cheap locks too.

My P345 has a lock. I haven't had the grips off my SP101s lately so I don't remember if they do or not; their DA revolvers used to have locks but if they've deleted them then that's good news.

I've got a Taurus Millenium Pro in .45 with a key lock on the slide...funny thing about the owner's manual...

Warning about the slide lock - paraphrased...

Warning storing the pistol unlocked could be dangerous
Warning storing the pistol locked could be hazardous to your safety

Both warnings in red and side by side... :hysterical:

As a Ruger fan I'm pretty excited about this gun. I love my P95 because it is so reliable and durable. It fires everything and has never had a single problem. Its just too big to cc realistically. I don't like the .380 of the LCP, so I think this LC9 would fit my needs perfectly and I will be watching it after it comes out to see what the street price is.
