There may be another wrinkle in the self defense/negligence trap. If you admit negligence, it at least raises the question of whether you truly feared for your life and safety; which means maybe you just admitted to using excessive force; which means that perhaps some gun-hating Commonwealth's Attorney will decide to criminally prosecute you for malicious wounding or even manslaughter if the dude dies.

Gun-crazy? Me? I'd say the gun-crazy ones are the ones that don’t HAVE one.
