Good answers. I also vote for avoiding I95 and taking a longer (by distance) route through PA to minimize your exposure while moving. Although it is longer by distance, my experience has been that it takes about the same time because of traffic. Come down through Harrisburg, PA and then you have several options.

From what I can gather...there does not seem to be any process to "un-register" my guns from Mass....

Oh, but there is. Simply follow the law for transporting them the hell out of Massasocialisticstate to someplace like the Commonwealth of VA...

In answer to your question about MD,,,,,They are not freindly to gun owners even just driving through if your pulled,,,,Have known more than one that had their cars gutted and belongings left all over the side of the road to pick up just because they were legally transporting a gun//' Do speed limit ,hold breath, Don;t make any sudden moves, its only a little state to get through but its one of the nastiest,,,

We're a pretty laid back state.
First thing move in.
Second don't shoot anybody that didn't need shooting.
Third don't rob anybody.
Life's simple.

Don't harm anyone with your guns and we mostly leave you alone.

"Mostly"?
ArmySGTPM, if there's *any* way you can avoid New Jersey, I would strongly recommend it, in light of what happened with Brian Aitken. Yes, I know, you would be transporting *through*, not *to*, New Jersey, but as bad as they are, and as long as that state is (i. e. more opportunities than in Mass. to get pulled over), if it can be avoided, so much the better.
If there isn't a feasible way to avoid New Jersey, then like others have said, speed limit, no sudden moves, etc. Don't get pulled over for ANYTHING, even though you're transporting them legally.

Simply head west a little bit and avoid NJ/MD/DC altogether. PA is a friendly state and so is WV. Sooner than you can say Commonwealth of Virginia you'll be here...

It's almost hard for me (born and raised in good ol' VA

) that other states like MA could have things like registration and licensing... it must be horrible! People call our laws lax but if OUR laws are lax I don't want to see the "good" states.
